Is This What The NYPD Has Been Doing After Refusing To Do Their Jobs?

By Matt Agorist

New York, NY ? As we reported last week, the NYPD has basically stopped doing its job since the murder of officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

A new video shows that they have apparently found a new way to spend the extra time they have after not doing their jobs.

The video, obtained by the website, Breaking 911, shows a police officer riding on the hood of a patrol car.

According to Breaking 911,?the incident happened at Seton Place and Parkville Ave in the confines of the 70 Precinct.

The officer was rushed to Lutheran Trauma Center with a police escort and chopper overhead.

If this wasn?t a case of officers wasting time and idiotically horsing around, then the NYPD has some serious explaining to do.

Why on earth would a cop get on top of a cop car and get driven down the street?

Below is the video of the incident which happened just around the corner from the precinct located in Brooklyn.

rofl...OMG This is great! Thanks for a good laugh in the middle of all of our national depression and rage.... The irony is that if a non-cop did that they would be tazed, arrested, and charged with endangering the public and themselves. We don't need the police, we don't need the government, and we don't need every stupid law that is designed to make people criminals and generate revenue. It's time to take back our country from the terrorists that are our current politicians.

Pedestrian Hit By Car Dies After Responding Cop Hits Him A Second Time

Chris | InformationLiberation

KAUMAKANI, HI - 19-year-old Michael Kocher Jr. of Hanapepe, Hawaii died this past Friday night after a Kauai police officer responding to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car hit the young man a second time.

Kocher was initially stuck by a Toyota Carolla while walking along the Kaumuali'i Highway at around 9:35 p.m. in the evening.

Kocher's niece Rayne Banasihan told the Garden Island newspaper Michael ?was alive and responsive? after being struck initially by the Toyota driver, yet after the responding officer smashed into him, he evidently showed no vital signs and was presumed dead at the scene.

The Kauai police say they're investigating the crash, but they haven't even released the name of the officer who hit him, instead they're asking for information on the young man's "whereabouts" prior to the crash.

It'd be more interesting to know where the officer was prior to the crash and was he or she in any way distracted or inebriated.

NJ Man Arrested for Refusing to Hand Over Camera as "Evidence" After Cop Veers Off Road

by Carlos Miller

A New Jersey man was arrested Thursday after refusing to hand over his video camera to a cop, who insisted he needed it as ?evidence,? even though case law makes it very clear that citizens do not have to give up their footage unless their camera was used in the commission of a crime.

You would think a detective from the prosecutor?s office would know better.

But then again, cops make up their own laws when trying to protect their own.

After all, the so-called evidence demanded by detective Dave Margentino from the Ocean County Prosecutor?s Office involved a fellow cop who had veered off the road in a single-car accident, needing to be airlifted to the hospital.

Andrew Flinchbaugh, 23, was video recording the aftermath of the accident, standing well out the way of police and rescue officials, recording the victim being loaded onto the copter as well as the copter taking off.

After about 30 minutes, just as he was about to make his way back to his car, Margentino walked up and demanded his camera, telling him, ?I?m not going to negotiate.?

Typical thug behavior that has become so prevalent in law enforcement these days.

After ten minutes of Flinchbaugh refusing to succumb to his demands, offering to allow the detective to copy his footage, even providing identification though he was not legally obliged, Margentino arrested him.

Once jailed, Flinchbaugh never gave them consent to search his camera and they never asked, but when they returned the camera upon release a few hours later, it appeared as if they had scrolled through his footage, which is illegal to do without a search warrant.

Chris | InformationLiberation

It took almost a month, but the young punk cop who tasered a 76-year-old man for questioning his questionable traffic stop has finally been fired, the Victoria Advocate reports.

The cop, 23-year-old Nathanial Robinson suspected 76-year-old Pete Vasquez of driving a vehicle with expired tags. In fact, Vasquez was driving a new car, all of which are exempt from having fresh tags, which Vasquez pointed out at the time he was stopped. Rather than check the law, Robinson responded by violently attacking and tasing his elder, throwing him to the ground and tasing him twice before placing him under arrest.

While the police chief criticized Robinson's actions at the time and said they would investigate, no details nor follow up was released until just yesterday. Here's an excerpt from their press release, which you can read in full here:
Chief Craig has announced the findings of the internal affairs investigation regarding Officer Nathaniel Robinson. Chief Craig has determined based on the evidence, that Officer Robinson violated three areas of policy and sustained allegations regarding violations of the following departmental policies.

1) Policy 0.216 - Conduct and Performance, Section 2.15
2) Policy 03.03 - Use of Force Section 1
3) Policy 0.0305- Arrest without a Warrant Section 3

Based on the findings of the administrative investigation, Nathaniel Robinson?s employment with the Victoria Police Department has been terminated.
Kudos to the police chief for doing what's right, including for faulting the officer for his false arrest.

Frankly, I find it abhorrent the mere idea a 23-year-old young punk could think a badge and a gun gives him the right to boss around a 76-year-old man because he has "expired tags."

It reminds me of a story about the late Steve Jobs. Jobs would buy a new car every six months to take advantage of a California law which makes you exempt from having to have a license plate for six months. Ever since I heard that story, I've thought about how any young punk rookie cop could pull over the great Steve Jobs and potentially put him through hell for not having a license plate, despite being entirely in the wrong.

The late H. L. Mencken believed government as an institution was a conspiracy devised by inferior human beings to rule over their betters. As he wrote back in the year 1919,
"All government, in its essence, is a conspiracy against the superior man: its one permanent object is to oppress him and cripple him. If it be aristocratic in organization, then it seeks to protect the man who is superior only in law against the man who is superior in fact; if it be democratic, then it seeks to protect the man who is inferior in every way against both."
As one who chronicles stories of government abuse, which is mostly carried out by low-grade morons such as officer Robinson, this strikes me as accurate.

Of course, in the case above, there's a good chance Robinson will be rehired, with back pay, once his moron protection agency, a.k.a. the police union, files an appeal to get him his job back.

Link 99170The firing is just for show to take some heat off the chief and the department and make it look like they are responding to the concerns of the citizens. I dare say the cop and the chief both know the union only has to flex its little pinky and he'll be back in the saddle with retro pay and probably a medal and a promotion. Link 10832I'm all about being able to listen to the type of music you so choose, but we all know that different types of music can sometimes alter our moods. So if you are listening to music that promotes violence and lawlessness and are a cop that is already mentally unstable you clearly are gonna do what you want and hurt people for ridiculous reasons. He probably his ass kicked everyday he was in school till he graduated and went into law enforcement. Victoria is notorious for drug smugglers but he is and was too much of a whimp to deal with them he has to pick on elderly and kids I'm sureAnonymousPosted: Jan 06 2015, 2:34 PM

Link 173190As the young cop obviously recently went through his education and training process to be qualified as a cop, we must conclude the cop knew his legal limitations, and the citizen's civil rights. Whenever a cop willfully violates a citizen's civil rights, he is no longer protected by 'qualified immunity' and is exposed to be personally liable. Not that he has any assets accumulated this early in life, but no doubt he can be sued for a percentage of all his future income.TomPosted: Jan 06 2015, 3:43 PM

Link 6742One of the benefits of my proposal to require all police to carry individually-purchased professional liability insurance is that this young cop could not just go to another city and get hired again without this following him. His insurance company would raise his premium, just like a driver who has been at fault in an accident. His insurance company might even see this moron as too great a risk and refuse to insure him at any premium, which would end his career.PutschPosted: Jan 06 2015, 3:49 PM

Link 71222The gangsta rap music this cop was listening to surely merits a notation regarding his violent actions towards this mundane. This cop is recently graduated and I can guarantee he was briefed upon Supreme Court case Castle Rock v. Gonzales. In 2005 the SC ruled that it is NOT the duty of police to serve and protect. This court ruling is probably the underlying cause of the upward incidents of violence against the public. New cops know they will never be held accountable for harm, destruction of property or death when they dish it out. However, what happened here was there were too many crimes and gross ignorance of the law and firing the cop is probably a City decision to attempt to lessen the upcoming consequences when this man sues the cop and the City. Bitcoin Jesus Denied Entry To U.S. After Renouncing Citizenship

by Wendy McElroy

Roger Ver is a virtual currency millionaire who has been dubbed the Bitcoin Jesus because of his avid advocacy of the blockchain money, which includes his seeding many businesses that use it. Last year, the libertarian-anarchist became a citizen of the Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis and renounced his American citizenship. Ver may be a bellwether of how the US plans to treat those who renounce their citizenship or who are otherwise inconvenient expats.

A frequent speaker at bitcoin events held in the US, Ver was meticulous about the process of renunciation and its implications. "I checked with lawyers very carefully before I renounced, and they clearly assured me that I will qualify for a visa to visit the USA. I would be fine with them denying my visa if it was for a valid reason.?

Ver also went through a mandatory ?one-week cooling-off period? and confronted such official questions as ?Did you know if you renounce citizenship, you won?t be able to serve in the armed forces?? Ver remembers thinking, ?darn,? before renouncing as fast as he could.

On January 6, he was denied a visa to attend the North American Bitcoin Conference, held from January 16 to 18 in Miami, a three-hour flight from St. Kitts and Nevis. (That passport allows for visa-free travel to 120 countries but the US is not one of them.)

It was apparently Ver's third attempt to re-enter America within an eight day period. The US Embassy in Barbados was happy to accept the $160 application fee each time it refused a visa. The stateside government had also willingly accepted his payment of a $325,000 tax bill just weeks before. Blood money, yes; entry, no. Ver cannot appeal the decision, only reapply and lawyers opine that each denial reduces the chances of future approval.

The official reason? The denial of entry was based on Section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) which is notoriously elastic. The Section states, ?Every alien shall be presumed to be an immigrant until he establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer, at the time of application for admission, that he is entitled to a nonimmigrant status?? In short, this section of the INA presumes every applicant for a visa to America intends to eventually reside in America. It is the burden of each applicant to demonstrate that this is not the case??

The embassy's rejection letter stated: "One of the most common elements within the various nonimmigrant visa requirements is for the applicant to demonstrate that they have a residence in a foreign country which they have no intention of abandoning ... You have not demonstrated that you have the ties that will compel you to return to your home country after your travel to the United States." In short, America allegedly fears Ver will overstay his visa and become an illegal immigrant in the land of his own birth.

The official reason for denying a visa to Ver beggars belief. Do officials think Ver was 'just kidding' about renouncing his US Citizenship? Was the $350,000 he paid for the privilege to do so just a prank? As pointed out, ?It is strange...that Mr. Ver was denied by the US Consular [sic] General, Barbados, under a regulation that requires he prove his intent to depart the US when he appears to have already done so.?

The strong ties demanded by the embassy usually consist of a job, a house, a family, a bank account, a business, a history of residency... Although Ver's family resides in the United States, he is 'tied' to St. Kitts and Nevis by almost every other measurement of residency.

Moreover, Ver's primary residence is in Tokyo where he moved in 2006. In an interview, he told Coindesk that the Embassy officials refused to so much as glance at the documentation of the business he started in Japan or at ?the other nine years worth of history he has with that country.? Instead, "[t]hey wouldn?t even let me slide the documents regarding Japan through the slot in the window.?

The Embassy officials most likely used 214(b) (the "non immigrant intent" requirement) as a pretext for denial, which is a common practice when they need an elastic excuse. 214(b) is a pretext that expats may encounter with increasing frequency.

The real explanation for the border shutting to Ver is almost certainly political. It could be based on one of three circumstances but probably draws upon all of them.

1) In the aftermath of Waco ? the 1993 Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) siege of a Texas compound in which over 70 men, women and children died needlessly ? Ver took a hard line. While running as a Libertarian candidate for California State Assembly in 2000, he called the ATF ?a bunch of jack booted thugs and murderers.? ATF agents in the audience took umbrage.

?They began looking into my background in the attempt to find dirt on me,? Ver explained. One of his business ventures sold a product called a ?Pest Control Report 2000,? which was a type of firecracker used by farmers to scare deer and birds away from corn fields. The ATF called it ?an explosive,? instructed everyone else to stop selling them, and prosecuted Ver. He was imprisoned for 10 months with three years probation for ?dealing in explosives without a license.?

After the probation was over, Ver left to live in Japan.

2) In October 2013, the FBI arrested Ross Ulbricht on multiple charges of which he was indicted on four counts: Computer hacking, money laundering, narcotics trafficking and engaging in a criminal enterprise. Ulbricht was accused of being the pseudonymous Dread Pirate Roberts, who founded the Silk Road online black market. Ver posted on Twitter: ?I?ll give $10 to @Free_Ross for each RT (retweet).? Ver has donated over $150,000 to Ulbricht's defense, which cannot please the Department of Justice.

3) Ver founded a service called Passport for Bitcoins through which he assisted people who wished to obtain a St. Kitts and Nevis passport. The US Government could not have been amused. The site currently redirects to a Z?rich firm that specializes in ?residence and citizenship planning.? and Ver now forwards any second citizenship requests through "Passports for Bitcoins" to TDV Passports.

Ver is unlikely to set an official foot on American soil again. And, yet, he has recently been seen strolling the streets of New York City, handing out free bitcoins to bypassers. A headline in Coin Telegraph reported ?Virtual Roger Ver Spotted Handing Out Bitcoins in NYC.?

The man has done the next best thing to cloning himself. He used Double ? a remotely-controlled robot that featured a screen with his face and had the ability to interact in real time with people near it. The article explained, ?While enjoying the sun on a Caribbean Beach, Roger Ver simultaneously romped the streets of New York City, taking in the sights of the Financial District.?

It will take years for Congress to figure out how to deny entry to robotic Ver, especially if his ?parts? are manufactured in America. But his flesh-and-blood experiences are a cautionary tale to expats. Although he has traveled into the homeland in the past, Ver was denied entry this time. Like the Biblical Jesus, he was denied three times. Expats should secure their visas before buying non-refundable tickets.

Cop Fired After Driving Away From Fatal Shooting, Neglecting Duties to Spend Time With Her Cop Boyfriend

Chris | InformationLiberation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - San Antonio Police officer Serena Botello has been fired and her appeal rejected after an investigation showed she went derelict on her duties 23 times in two months, often to spend time with a fellow SAPD officer who appears to be her live-in boyfriend.

In one case last March, rather than respond to a 911 call to help a 35-year-old man who shot himself in the head, Botello drove away despite being under a mile away and the closest officer to the scene.

Family members of the man said he died at the hospital hours later. Questions over how the case was handled lead SAPD to conduct an investigation into Botello's actions. After looking at GPS records from her vehicle, they determined she had spent over 36 hours from March 21 to May 15 "neglecting her duties."

Investigators found Botello spent some of this time with another SAPD officer, whom they later determined she was living with.

Botello's termination papers noted she violated SAPD's regulations concerning ?relationships with co-workers,? ?alertness required of members,? and ?on-duty activities.?

Botello had been issued two separate suspensions in December 2012, one for 20 days, and another for 30 days. KENS 5 reports a source familiar with her service records said at least one of those suspensions was for "failure to respond," yet she wasn't fired at the time and was allowed to keep her job.

I don't remember December. 2012 being fifty days long..... Thanks, she was issued two separate suspensions, I reworded it to be more clear! In Other News: "Hiring Less Qualified Applicants Because of Gender Causes People To Die" Ya know somethin, I've been a regular to this EXCELLENT website for a good while now & as a "foreigner" looking in, I feel sooo disheartened by the general (citizens) response to the stories I've read here. I'm not talking about the other "regulars", I mean the vast majority of american citizens who see NO problem with the way their country is being run & have no issue with their foreign policy stance. The United States Of America used to stand for something across the world, something good, something people aspired to, something people looked up to, a true democracy. America has been hijacked, not by ISIS or some other bogeyman, but by the very people entrusted to "protect & serve" the population, the politicians. I have decided NOT to contribute to the comments anymore, no-one is listening, no-one cares, I wish the very best for you, but I've seen enough to be pessimistic as to the outcome....
my prayers are with you & for you, in all denominations, please.... make a difference, for all our sakes. Hey irishpete, thanks so much for your kind words and for all your posts, I really enjoy reading them and personally I appreciate you sharing so much. I share your frustrations but I think you may not realize how much your comments contribute to the site, honestly without readers and commenters like you the site is nothing! I hope you'll reconsider!

Also, people are listening, just comment participation is low, maybe becuase we don't have the best comment system, I'm considering switching to disqus for example, but also if you check out this article on reddit you'll see there's a lot of comments and a lot of people who agree with you! http://www.reddit.com/r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut/comments/2rmd5d/cop_fired_after_driving_away_from_fatal_shooting/

All my best to you irishpete!

...so why didn't he get fired too??? Just another P.O.S. in uniform.

New York Family Left Homeless After Police Rip Down Walls to Serve DWI Warrant

"She really has lost all the stability in her life in one fell swoop," a local pastor explained of the widow.

DANBY, NY ? A family has been left homeless after law enforcement agencies destroyed their entire house in the process of serving a warrant for a man for driving while intoxicated.

The home of David and Melissa Cady was condemned after armored police vehicles plowed through several walls while attempting to get 36-year-old Mr. Cady to surrender. A bench warrant had been issued after Mr. Cady missed a court appearance August 26, 2014, regarding his DWI conviction. On December 30th, 2014, a SWAT team moved in to make the arrest.

With the home at 127 Hornbrook Road surrounded, Melissa and the two children peacefully exited upon request. But David Cady did not, and police spent extensive resources to perform a lengthy standoff, resulting in his death.

?I?ve known him for like 12 years,? said friend and neighbor Dave McCarthy to the Ithaca Journal. ?He?s been a good neighbor, he?s got a wife, two nice kids, a dog.?

Police cordoned off roughly 20 other homes while besieging the Cady residence. Neighbors were not allowed to return after leaving their homes on the 1.7-mile stretch of restricted roadway.

Police suspected Mr. Cady was armed. On the evening of December 30th, police say that a single shot was fired. It was the only shot of the entire standoff.

After this shot, Mr. Cady stopped communicating with police. Police proceeded to break down the walls to with armored vehicles to ?restrict his movement,? and shot teargas into the house until 61 hours had passed, when they finally realized their suspect had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Soon after, Danby Code Enforcement declared the home to be unlivable and condemned the property.

Resident Kory Watkins uploaded a video of the the Cady?s former house, which now features gaping holes and mounds of debris scattered across the yard.

Watkins captioned the video: ?All for a warrant. A violation of Probation for a D.W.I. and it took over 150 officers from over 18 agencies and military vehicles with more than 50 bombs of tear gas to end this like this?UNNECESSARY!?

The stunning turn of events left Mrs. Cady and her two children with no father and no home.

?She [Mrs. Cady] really has lost all the stability in her life in one fell swoop,? explained Pastor Ed Enstine of Danby Federated Church. ?She's basically lived her own life and worked and doesn't take handouts very easily, but in this case she's basically back to square 1 ? square 0, at this point.?

In a showing of charity, Pastor Enstine is organizing a fundraiser to help get the Cady family back on their feet. See details below.

The Ithaca Journal reported that over a dozen agencies were involved with the standoff, including Ithaca Police Department, Cornell University Police, Ithaca College Public Safety, Ithaca Fire Department, New York State Police, New York State Park Police, Cayuga County Sheriff?s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Syracuse Police Department, Elmira Police Department, Broome County Sheriff?s Office, Onondaga County Sheriff?s Office, and Tompkins County Office of Emergency Management.

HELP THE CADY FAMILY

A relief fund has been established by Pastor Ed Enstine at the Danby Federated Church. Checks should be made payable to Danby Federated Church. Write in the memo section: ?Cady Relief Fund.?

Florida Man Arrested after Video Recording Deputies Mishandling Checkpoint

By Carlos Miller

A Florida man who regularly video records DUI checkpoints to ensure police are operating in compliance of the law was arrested Friday night, moments after he had recorded Hillsborough County deputies falling out of compliance, which he believes may have been to wave a fellow cop through the checkpoint without having to be checked for sobriety.

Even if there was no cop in the car that was allowed to pass through, it created enough of an inconsistency from the predetermined protocol to make all the other stops from?that night unconstitutional.

And that is probably why they wanted him removed.

Wally Sullivan, 59, ?was stripped of his camera and handcuffed , then transported to the sheriff?s office where he was fingerprinted and released within an hour.

They kept his camera as ?evidence,? even though they had no legal right to do so considering he is not being accused of using his camera in the commission of a crime.

They didn?t realize he had another camera in a pouch around his neck, which is from where the posted videos come from; the top video being the shortened version, the bottom video the extended version, well worth the 30 minutes.

Sober Woman Framed With 'Drunk Driving' Charges After Cop Crashes Into Her Vehicle

The victim of a horrible accident was charged with OWI to cover for a deputy's faulty driving.

MILWAUKEE, WI ? A young woman had her neck broken in four places after her vehicle was T-boned by a police officer who blew through a stop sign.? Even though she was completely sober, the police charged with drunk driving and tried to shift the blame onto her instead of the party at fault.? When evidence surfaced that showed her innocence, it was hidden and ignored.? The deputy responsible was never punished.

Terrible Crash

Tanya Helena Weyker, 25, had never been accused of a crime, nor had she even so much as had a speeding ticket.? Her life changed forever the night of February 20, 2013, when her Toyota Camry was slammed by a Milwaukee County Sheriff?s deputy and was sent spinning into a tree.

?I was just driving straight and he hit me,? remembered Weyker in an interview with WITI.? ?It was just a miracle I wasn?t paralyzed.?

Deputy Joseph Quiles had broadsided her, mangling the vehicle and causing her life-threatening injuries.? The crash was so violent that it broke her neck in four places.?? Her passenger suffered a ruptured spleen.

Ms. Weyker was in critical condition, yet the responding deputies did not miss the opportunity to manufacture reasons to ruin her life and lock her in jail.? Quiles?s colleagues used Weyker?s ?glassy? eyes as evidence of drunk driving, along with the claim of a ?light odor? of alcohol.

"I explained to him my eyes were red and glassy because I was crying," Ms. Weyker explained.? "They made me into this criminal."

On the police report filed by Deputy Scott Griffin, the alleged ?victim? was recorded as fellow deputy Joseph Quiles.? The report claimed that Weyker made conflicting statements and did its best to make her look like a criminal.

Charges and Injuries

To go with her terrible injuries, Ms. Weyker was slammed with 5 crimes:
Unreasonable and Imprudent SpeedOperating While IntoxicatedOperating with PAC >= 0.08 < 0.10Causing Injury While Operating While IntoxicatedCausing Injury While Operating with PAC alcoholWeyker miraculously survived the ordeal, but she had a tough recovery ahead of her.? A month after the crash, Weyker was in desperate shape.? She had drifted down to an incredibly low body weight of 76 pounds on her 5?6? frame.?? She was so weak that doctors said she required a feeding tube.

Her condition was complicated by the fact that she was a cancer survivor since the age of 3 years old.? As a child, doctors gave her so many doses of radiation that her spine began to curve, so they inserted metal rods into her back to keep it straight.? She had been living with these rods for many years at the time of the crash.

Unable to work, crippled, and drowning in medical bills approaching $1 million ? Ms. Weyker also had to pay for legal services to defend herself from the Milwaukee County Sheriff?s Department.

What?s worse, the case wasn?t being dropped, even though the evidence was clearly on her side.? The night of the crash, Weyker was in no condition to give a field sobriety test, but her blood was drawn during hospitalization.? The test results came back proving that she had absolutely no alcohol in her system.

Justice Served?

It is unlikely that such treatment would have occurred to the victim of any other crash that did not involve a police officer.? With no tangible evidence for the charges, the Milwaukee County Sheriff?s deputy pushed the blame onto his victim to ?protect himself and his department,? according to Ms. Weyker.

Deputy Quiles himself was found to have changed his story.? In his official police report, he claimed to have made a complete stop at the stop sign.? Yet a surveillance video captured from the nearby airport showed that Quiles rolled right through it, striking Weyker?s vehicle.

The department obtained the surveillance video only days after the crash ? but it was kept hidden from Ms. Weyker and her attorney.?? Instead of revealing the evidence and dropping the manufactured charges against her, the department sent her threatening letters demanding money to pay for the accident.

Fortunately, the district attorney declined to pursue the charges against Ms. Weyker.? The Milwaukee County Sheriff?s Office seems to have an unaddressed integrity problem.

In a later internal investigation, Deputy Quiles was recorded admitting his own fault in the crash.? Despite this admission ? contradicting his original report ? he is still listed as an active deputy with the department, WITI News discovered.? He was never fired or officially disciplined for the fraudulent report that caused Ms. Weyker so much agony.

Kids Traumatized, Have Nightmares After Cops Raid Wrong House

Cops give kids stuffed animals to make up for three hours of terror
Adan Salazar

A Michigan SWAT team provided a small family fresh inspiration for nightmares after they broke down the door to the wrong home and turned the place upside down looking for drugs.

Police in Kalamazoo apologized for mistaking Jeremy Handley?s home for that of an armed drug dealer, and hoped giving his children stuffed animals would make up for the terror-filled night.

Handley, his wife Becky and his two children were home last Thursday when he heard sounds making him believe his home was being burglarized. His kids ran to hide in a closet, hoping the thieves wouldn?t find them.

?I thought it was somebody either trying to rob us, or hurt us,? Handley recounted to CBS affiliate WWMT.

He says police entered through the back door and ordered him and his wife to the floor, handcuffing and searching them.

?He had me sprawl out right here on the floor, and then he had me put my hands behind my back,? Handley said, pointing to the area in his home where police held him at gunpoint.

Handley?s kids were also ferreted out of the closet, claiming they "were staying quiet, because we thought they were bad guys coming in."

The Handleys were cuffed and interrogated for three hours, while police rummaged through their belongings looking for controlled substances, Federal Reserve notes and firearms. ?Every drawer, every cabinet, every piece of paper,? Handley says of the SWAT team?s thorough search.

Police were apparently more thorough during their search, rather than prior. When all was said and done, they realized it was their mistake, as they were looking for the tenant who used to rent the Handley?s home about a year ago, a man by the name of Chum.

?Do you know this Chum guy?? police asked, to which Handley replied, "No, I would never recognize him if I were to see him in the street."

The whole menacing affair badly traumatized the Handley children, leaving them emotionally scarred and with recurring nightmares. ?One dream was about Chum coming in our house with a gun, saying get on the ground,? Handley?s daughter told WWMT. ?It made me sad and scared."

Police raids on wrong houses are occurring with such frequency that one wonders whether the raids are being carried out as a means of intimidating the public, or if their intelligence can really be so bad as to cause this many frequent mistakes.

Just last week, we highlighted a SWAT raid in Bakersfield, Cali., where police also battered down the door to the wrong house and ordered a half-naked young mother to the ground as she was about to jump in the shower. They stormed apartment "A," but were supposed to have been at "B."

Two days prior, we also reported on a raid that took place in Richmond, Virginia, in which police terrorized a 75-year-old grandmother, binding her hands with twist ties and telling her she was under arrest as they searched her home for drugs. In that case, police were supposed to be at apartment "E," but went to "G" instead.

Despite their traumatic scare, the Handleys are lucky no one got hurt.

Back in 2012, we exposed a bungled early morning SWAT raid on a wrong home in Billings, Montana, that left a 12-year-old girl badly burned by a flashbang grenade. "A simple knock on the door and I would've let them in," the girl's mother Jackie Fasching told the Billings Gazette.

Video Shows Cops Slam Man's Head Into Wall, Mace Him After He Stumbles To Ground, Laugh About It

Chris | InformationLiberation

Disturbing video has surfaced of police officers throwing a man into a wall, then macing him after the stumbles to the ground in a disorientated stupor. The cop who maced the man gets a big smile on his face, then the cops together are seen laughing as the man is lying on the ground maced with his face and head smashed up. The victim said he had brain injuries, chipped teeth, and was left with a permanent lump on the back of his head from the assault. Nothing happened to the police involved as the man says he couldn't find his lawyer who had the video for two years.

After posting the video to YouTube the officers involved were just put on paid leave. The police chief said they were not aware of the incident until the video was posted to YouTube, but they're conducting an "investigation."

Here's the victim, Michael Bergeron, Jr.'s account of what happened as posted to YouTube:

"charged with a dwi and tried explaining that I wasn't drunk and they could be out catching actual criminals. then after being in the cell for a while waiing for a bail bonds man I was taken out and brought in the booking room to call for a ride. after calling a ride I was told I could take my phone that I called from and my wallet. as soon as I greabbed my wallet from the table he officer with the glasses came at me saying he never told me I could take my stuff and choked me against the wall then tried to grab the wallet from my pocket. once he got the wallet and my phone this is what happened. there was no lawsuit made due to the fact I found a lawyer and the lawyer took the tapes and disappeared for 2 years until I finally tracked him down and go it back but now I think its to late to do anything with it even though I have a permanent lump on the back of my head chipped teeth and brain injuries but talking to a lawyer soon well see what happens."

Georgia teen was stuffed with newspaper after death, family lawyer says

By Elizabeth Chuck, Staff Writer, NBC News

The mysterious death of a Georgia teen has taken a bizarre twist with the revelation that an autopsy of his exhumed remains found his internal organs missing and his body stuffed with newspaper.

The family of Kendrick Johnson, 17, of Valdosta, Ga., was "outraged" and "devastated" by the discovery and believes his death was a murder that is being covered up, a lawyer representing them said Thursday.

Johnson, a three-sport athlete, was found dead on Jan. 11 in a rolled-up wrestling mat in his high school gym. State medical examiners concluded that he accidentally suffocated while trying to retrieve a sneaker.

Perhaps it was a state employee that committed the crime. Seems for sure the school wishes it to disappear. Not handing over video footage lets all sorts of theories arise. With respect to the removal of the young man's internal organs and the subsequent stuffing of his corpse with newspapers, I would suspect the person who performed the first autopsy, or perhaps the person who prepared the body for burial. They both would have had the opportunity to commit this sort of mutilation. There is a black market for human organs, and not all are sold for transplantation into living people.

Cops Shoot Texas Homeowner Dead After He Kills Intruder

A career criminal broke into a neglected-looking Far East Dallas home Thursday night thinking the homeowner had died and his belongings were there for the taking, police said.

But the homeowner, William Keith Hall, wasn?t dead after all. He shot the burglar, Jerry Wayne Hale, then stood over him in an alley with a gun in hand, police said. Hall told Hale, 30, that he wanted to shoot him again.

When police arrived, Hall pointed the 9 mm pistol ? which had stopped working ? at them and witnesses. Officers ordered Hall to drop his weapon and when he refused, they fatally shot the 57-year-old man.

Maj. Jeff Cotner of the crimes against persons division said Friday that responding officers didn?t realize in all the chaos that Hall was defending his home in the 10300 block of Sandra Lynn Drive.

But Cotner said Hall ?had plenty of opportunities to de-escalate? the situation.

?He was given plenty of notice, and he didn?t choose a path other than to confront officers,? Cotner said.

Police received a 911 call around 7:45 p.m. Thursday from a contractor working on a nearby house. The caller told police about the shooting and said that when witnesses got near Hall, he pointed a gun at them and ?tried to shoot? them. Cotner said Hall repeatedly tried to manipulate the gun?s jammed slide to fire it again, but to no avail.

Such a misleading headline - shame on you. Cops were in the right for a change. yeah right, i am sure the cops tell accurate stories after they kill the witness. cops will always cover their tracks in the most cowardly fashion. not a chance i believe their side of this. I had to read and re-read that a few times to make sure I was getting the story straight. Finally I just went to the article source.

Strange story with no winners, and I'm not sure what informationliberation is trying to 'prove' or demonstrate with this particular story.

It's not like he was some civic-minded patriot homeowner who was in his right mind. ...

"Humphrey (witness) also told Hall that police were on the way. The contractor told Channel 8 that Hall replied, ?Good, I?ll shoot them, too.?"

In Texas they should just abolish the police. Most people in
Texas are self sufficient. Again in this story police are liars of course the police can say whatever they want and find witnesses to lie for them doesn't matter at the end they killed their victim. I hate police abuse with a passion, and there is MORE than enough, way more, that is sickening and bad, but I gotta agree with 8199, THIS instance, from the information, was not abuse. They didn't have a lot of choice and if the victims actions are described correctly, it's unfortunate but not in the same league as the other abuses documented here all the time. 97119, you've gone too far then. If you don't believe ANYTHING no matter what is reported, you are as bad as those idiots that when confronted with real police abuse (which is abundant) always chime in "I'm sure there is MORE to the story than this, they don't just taze/shoot/beat a man for no reason you know"

This is every bit as bad, not constructive, and pretty lame actually. Your comment is meaningless at that point. It would be another thing to say "it sounds legit this time, from what is reported, but this might not be all the evidence" but not a chance...eh?

The headline is from Fox News and it is factually correct. Oh sure, but misleading.

How about: "Police Kill Disturbed Man"

That seems factually correct as well. I suppose a nitpicker could charge that it makes the man sound like the agressor.

Hmmm. How about:

"Disturbed Man Dies Defending Self from Police"
"Police Shoot Killer"
"Man Defends Self, Killed by Police"

They're all factually accurate, aren't they?

"Cops Shoot Texas Homeowner Dead After He Kills Intruder"

Oh, wait that's the actual title. Hmmmm.....

See, all those titles I made up, and the real one as well, comprise examples of what is called "slant". The title tells you what to expect, and based on the actual title, what you expect is that the brute police killed a poor innocent homeowner, who was merely defending himself.

How about this:

"Police Forced to Kill Man Who Became Disturbed After Killing Intruder"

That probably would lead you to expect something more like what the real story seems to be.

@20138 It is extreme to say that I do not believe anything at all that is reported. But it is not extreme to say that I do not believe any story the way that they report it. They are masters at weaving the truth with lies. I will always question every story this regime pumps out. If that is just too much for you then, oh well, that is how I function.

Phoenix Cop Snatches Camera from Man after Being Photographed Jaywalking

By Carlos Miller

Raymond Michael had just left a court hearing over his previous arrest for photographing the federal courthouse when he spotted a Phoenix police officer jaywalking, so he snapped a photo.

That resulted in the cop snatching his video camera from him, then pulling out his own camera where he photographed Michael, before handing back the video camera ten minutes later and allowing him to be on his way.

Unfortunately, the cop turned off Michael?s camera, so we are unable to hear what took place during those ten minutes, but Michael says they kept demanding his identification and he kept asking if he was being detained.

?They said you are being detained for taking photos,? Michael said in a telephone interview with Photography is Not a Crime Sunday afternoon.

When he wouldn?t give them his identification, they snapped his photo, apparently to add him to him to their database of suspected camera-wielding terrorists, and returned his camera, allowing him to leave.

The fact that they let him go shows they knew all along they didn?t have enough to arrest him.
