NJ Man Arrested for Refusing to Hand Over Camera as "Evidence" After Cop Veers Off Road

by Carlos Miller

A New Jersey man was arrested Thursday after refusing to hand over his video camera to a cop, who insisted he needed it as ?evidence,? even though case law makes it very clear that citizens do not have to give up their footage unless their camera was used in the commission of a crime.

You would think a detective from the prosecutor?s office would know better.

But then again, cops make up their own laws when trying to protect their own.

After all, the so-called evidence demanded by detective Dave Margentino from the Ocean County Prosecutor?s Office involved a fellow cop who had veered off the road in a single-car accident, needing to be airlifted to the hospital.

Andrew Flinchbaugh, 23, was video recording the aftermath of the accident, standing well out the way of police and rescue officials, recording the victim being loaded onto the copter as well as the copter taking off.

After about 30 minutes, just as he was about to make his way back to his car, Margentino walked up and demanded his camera, telling him, ?I?m not going to negotiate.?

Typical thug behavior that has become so prevalent in law enforcement these days.

After ten minutes of Flinchbaugh refusing to succumb to his demands, offering to allow the detective to copy his footage, even providing identification though he was not legally obliged, Margentino arrested him.

Once jailed, Flinchbaugh never gave them consent to search his camera and they never asked, but when they returned the camera upon release a few hours later, it appeared as if they had scrolled through his footage, which is illegal to do without a search warrant.

Cop Arrested for His Violent Behavior to be Reinstated Despite the Department Not Wanting Him

By Cassandra Rules

Des Moines, IA? Former Des Moines officer Cody Grimes, who was fired in 2013, is likely returning to the police force against the department?s wishes due to an expected order from the city?s civil service commission.

Grimes was fired after he was arrested for domestic abuse after allegedly beating and choking his ex girlfriend as they were in the process of breaking up. The officer was not arrested until three days after the assault despite police reports indicating the woman had sustained injuries.

The woman alleges she was pressured by the police and prosecutors not to press domestic abuse charges, and Grimes ended up pleading guilty to criminal mischief charges.

?There was a couple people who kept calling me and harassing me, saying we need your story again. Every single day they would call me and the Polk County Attorney said, ?you know, we can go to trial but he pretty much persuaded me that if we go to trial and one person (on the jury) doesn?t agree to it then everything?s dropped,?? the woman being referred to as only Alexandria told WHOtv. ?I felt that no one was on my side. That no one was on my back. and I knew I had enough evidence but they were pushing me to not go forth with it.?
Sadly, this woman fears Grimes so badly she had to move thousands of miles away, afraid that he would retaliate and hurt her again.
?He?s dangerous. He?s a liability. And he?s gonna end up really hurting somebody.?
When asked by WHOtv if she believes Grimes is going to kill someone, the woman replied, ?I do. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon enough.?

This was not the man?s first time showing his tendencies towards violence.

In October of 2010, Grimes was responding to a call at the KCCI news studios in downtown Des Moines when he mistakenly shot at a KCCI photographer who was outside with a cellphone in his hands. Luckily the shots missed, but unfortunately this massive error in judgement and display of poor reasoning and impulse control was not enough to warrant the officer being fired and he was cleared of any wrong doing.

Less than a year later, in July of 2011, Grimes beat a groom named Jake Twombly unconscious at the man?s own wedding, breaking several bones in his face.

Twombly hired an off duty officer to come provide security for his wedding. When a groomsman got out of line with the bride, Twombly shoved the man, causing him to fall and knock over a ceramic column into the lap of one of the officer he had hired. The officer called for back up and approximately 20 officers barged into the wedding, despite the situation having already deescalated by this point.

During the chaos, Grimes stood out to witnesses as a particularly brutal character, as he had reportedly punched the groom in the eye and then repeatedly in his face as he was already handcuffed and on the ground.

A 63 year old guest eventually stepped in and intervened by grabbing Grimes? arm. He believes that had he not, Grimes would not have stopped until he killed Twombly, the complaint alleges.

Grimes faced a two week paid administrative leave over the incident and then returned to the streets, despite the city having to pay out a $75,000 settlement to Twombly.

Grimes? ex girlfriend and Twombly have both stated that they fear for people?s safety should the volatile officer be returned to duty and the department appears to agree, stating that they have not reversed their decision. Unfortunately the decision to get rid of problematic officers is not up to those who should supposedly know best.

Drunken, Violent Cop Arrested Twice in Four Months. Keeps His Job and Gets Paid Vacation

?Go ahead, call the cops. They will believe me before you, because I?m a cop.?
By Matt Agorist

Chattagnooga, TN ? A Chatanooga police detective has been arrested, again, within a four month time frame and he?s still being paid.

David Catching, 34, was arrested in September for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was reported to?police for weaving in and out of cars, nearly striking many of them. Several beer bottles were found in his vehicle and he failed the field sobriety test.

The Times Free Press reported that Catchings tried to use his status as a cop to get out of the arrest.

?It should be noted during that during this entire incident, [his] mood changed from compliant to hostile,? the affidavit read. ?He advised several times that he was a cop and asked to try and work things out.?

?He advised we were brothers and I should be arresting bad guys,? the police officer present wrote in the affidavit. ?He stated his aunt signs my paycheck and advised I was a rookie and didn?t know anything about police work.?

Apparently ending up in jail again was humorous to Catching, as?his mugshot featured a smile.

On Wednesday, this stand-up?guy?landed in jail again but not for drinking and driving; this time it was drinking and beating, his mother-in-law.

According to the Times Free Press,?Janet Ashford, told police that she woke up to find Catchings drunk on her couch around 3 a.m. When she told him to leave, she said, Catchings struck her with an open hand across her face.

Catchings called her a liar when she threatened to call police and said, ?Go ahead, call the cops. They will believe me before you, because I?m a cop.?

Despite the threat, Ashford called the cops, and Catching was locked up, again.

The department has promised a ?second internal affairs investigation? into the violent drunken shenanigans of Catchings. Meanwhile Catchings gets to enjoy?his?$42,000-a-year salary, while he sits at home and puts back six-packs on the tax-payers? dime.

Ironically the police chief Fred Fletcher, said??I?m impressed with local law enforcement, that people are held to the same standards whether they are law enforcement or not.?

But he is not being held to the same standards.

Catchings job is to enforce the law.?However, he has been shown to be a failure at this, as he cannot even stop himself from breaking it. If he were employed in the private sector he would most assuredly have been fired by now.

If you are the fry cook at McDonald?s and instead of frying french fries, you fry hamburgers, you will be fired.

If you are the greeter at Wal-Mart and instead of greeting people as the walk in, you punch them in the face, you will be fire.

Neither McDonald?s, nor Wal-Mart would put you on paid vacation for doing the exact opposite of what you were hired to do.

However, if you are ?an officer of the law,? you get to enjoy being paid for a job that you do not have to do.

Way to represent, Officer Catchings. You, sir, are yet another shining example of your noble and highly respected profession. Keep fighting the good fight, officer. We need more violent, abusive, dysfunctional, sociopathic, dangerous, self-centered assholes like you to protect and serve us.

Godspeed, sir. Godspeed.

Florida Man Arrested after Video Recording Deputies Mishandling Checkpoint

By Carlos Miller

A Florida man who regularly video records DUI checkpoints to ensure police are operating in compliance of the law was arrested Friday night, moments after he had recorded Hillsborough County deputies falling out of compliance, which he believes may have been to wave a fellow cop through the checkpoint without having to be checked for sobriety.

Even if there was no cop in the car that was allowed to pass through, it created enough of an inconsistency from the predetermined protocol to make all the other stops from?that night unconstitutional.

And that is probably why they wanted him removed.

Wally Sullivan, 59, ?was stripped of his camera and handcuffed , then transported to the sheriff?s office where he was fingerprinted and released within an hour.

They kept his camera as ?evidence,? even though they had no legal right to do so considering he is not being accused of using his camera in the commission of a crime.

They didn?t realize he had another camera in a pouch around his neck, which is from where the posted videos come from; the top video being the shortened version, the bottom video the extended version, well worth the 30 minutes.

NYPD Cop Arrested For Extorting Restaurant Owner

A NYPD cop and two fellow thugs ? including a reputed gangster who was involved in a fatal stabbing of a groom-to-be ? were arrested Tuesday for extorting monthly "protection" payments from an Albanian restaurant in Queens, federal authorities said.

The cop, Besnik Llakatura, conspired to shake down the restaurant owner with Llakatura playing the role of the good cop with the victim who was his friend, authorities said.

The restaurant owner went to Llakatura, a friend, and asked what he should do. Lakatura advised the restaurant owner from reporting the extortion telling him he had no choice but to make the payments, authorities said.

The victim shelled out $24,000 over five months for the phony protection.

In a phone call intercepted by the feds, Llakatura jokingly referred to how he "taxes" local businesses, according to court papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Also charged were Redinel Dervishaj ? who allegedly warned the victim that he had to pay up because he had opened the restaurant in "our neighborhood" ? and Denis Nikolla who allegedly menaced the victim at gunpoint when he initially refused their threats.

"The defendants told their victims they offered 'protection' but in reality they peddled fear and intimidation through the Albanian community," said Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch.

Wow! I understand some of their beliefs as I haven't read up on them much but this is crazy shit. I didn't know they were nuts of that variety. Any of you who frequent this website - see story after story of crooked cops - rampant juridical corruption - police brutality, incompetence and so forth - don't deny that a side of you wishes a lone wolf or a group of liberty minded individuals could exact just violence upon the thuggery of the praetorian class.

It is only natural to conceive of these notions. It does not make you evil nor insane. You are human, and not sociopathic, unlike those that claim to serve, to protect, and to uphold --- and fail, pathetically, intentionally. You love you fellow man and you see that the imbalance of justice and you seek to restore balance to the social dynamic between the citizen and the enforcer.

Peaceful means of protesting the rising police state don't seem to work - which leaves "other" means. Sad, I know - but necessary? - probably - if we stay on the course of authoritarianism - definitely.

Expect the frequency of actions like those in this story to increase. They will. Always remember Newton's third law.

Peel away the cop uniforms and labels of authority and they are only state sanctioned thugs who torture, maim and kill with impunity.

When SHTF, you're gonna wish there are groups like this to protect you from roving bands of cops out to rob, rape and murder you.

Personally, I sort of look forward to the collapse - finally giving We The People an opportunity to extract justice from those who deprived us of the same for so long.

I support this action against unlawful thugs with badges. They're fascists and illegally operating against our Constitution.

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Suit Against Feds Who Arrested Former Marine For His Controversial Facebook Posts

by Tim Cushing

Almost exactly a year ago, former Marine Brandon Raub was taken from his home by federal agents and involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward, all because of some controversial postings to his Facebook account, including some 9/11 conspiracy-related articles and violent song lyrics.

On August 16, 2012, Raub was visited by local police, FBI agents and Secret Service personnel who questioned him about his Facebook posts. Raub was cooperative and discussed his activity with the officers, despite their not having a warrant. At some point, one of the agents made a call to Michael Campbell, a psychotherapist retained by the county who decided, despite having never met or observed Raub, that the former Marine was "potentially dangerous" and should be detained.

At that point, the collected officers cuffed Raub and took him to the local jail before having him committed to the mental hospital. Government officials later claimed Raub wasn't arrested, but the video taken of his "not being arrested" looks for all the world to the un-government-trained eye like an arrest.

After being detained for four days, Raub appeared before another judge who ordered him to be held for 30 days for evaluation. A short while later, this was overruled by Circuit Court Judge Allan Sharrett, who ordered Raub released immediately, stating that the prosecution's case was ?so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.? At this point, the Rutherford Institute, which had taken Raub's case after his "non-arrest," filed a lawsuit on his behalf against the officers and agents involved with his unlawful detainment.

Needless to say, the government has attempted to have this lawsuit dismissed. Fortunately for Raub (and the American public), the judge isn't willing to let the involved parties just walk away from their problem.

A federal judge in Richmond, Va., has refused to dismiss from a lawsuit several FBI and Secret Service agents as well as local police officers who arrested a military veteran based on an opinion from a counselor who had never met him that he might be a danger.

The decision came from U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson, who essentially said there is not enough information at this point in the case to dismiss the law enforcement defendants. He ordered limited discovery.

Hudson said the Rutherford Institute, which is representing Raub, had alleged sufficient facts to indicate that the involuntary commitment violated his rights under the U.S. Constitution?s First and Fourth Amendments.

The government agents named have claimed that officers only have to show "probable cause that the individual poses a danger to himself or others" in order to forcibly detain and commit civilians. Hudson has rebutted this claim, stating that these agents had no previous experience with Raub and were acting solely on the claims made by a third party, unless other facts indicating otherwise present themselves during the limited discovery. That handles the Fourth Amendment claims. The First Amendment claims brought by Raub also survived the motion to dismiss.
[T]here is no dispute over whether political speech is protected or whether an arrest for political speech would adversely affect one's ability to further engage in political expression. And the third element -- causation -- may be inferred from Raub's allegation that the only knowledge the County Defendants had at the time of arrest concerned his political views.
No one has a problem with law enforcement investigating threats, but all too often lately, these agencies have proven they are quick to act on very little information, much of it devoid of any context. Raub's case and other incidents involving social media all have one thing in common: the word "terrorist." The government's favorite witch hunt is hurting Americans, as zealous government entities are willing to see the implicit threat of terrorism everywhere someone tells them to look.

Washington Man Arrested for Video Recording SWAT Team from Public Sidewalk

by Carlos Miller

A Washington man was arrested for video recording police from a public sidewalk after they had raided his neighbor?s home Saturday.

He was charged with obstruction, although as you can see in the video below, all he was doing was interviewing his neighbor about having a gun pointed at her six-month-old daughter.

A militarized cop then walked up to him and told him he was not allowed to record him without his permission as you can see in the video above, which we all know is false ? especially considering the cop was the one who walked up to him (but that doesn?t even make a difference).

The man, who goes by 509rifas and lives in Yakima County, posted the videos and story and an open carry forum. Hopefully, we?ll get more details, including the police agency involved.

Here is his story:

So I heard a commotion outside, turns out SWAT was raiding my neighbors house again. Heard a flashbang then walked down to film it. I was there for a while, maybe 20 minutes with no problems.

Then I started talking to a young woman who asked me if I had it on camera when they pointed guns at her infant.

A sgt approached and told me not to film and whatnot, and I actually turned the camera off, turned it around to show him, and THEN he arrested me for obstruction.

He noticed my smaller camera and assumed it was on, and then arrested me. The arrest isn?t actually recorded, what let up to it up to the point I stopped recording is.

As they brought me over to the SWAT van he said something on the radio about ?grabbed this guy? recording? and I?m fairly certain I heard back ?stop him!.? I?ll find out for sure when I get the PRA records. But if that was what was said, that steps it up to another level.

As it stands right now, I am facing criminal charges of obstruction a law enforcement officer, and have court next week.

Charges Dismissed For Teen Arrested Over NRA T-Shirt

Prosecutors tried to gag Jared Marcum from talking to press
Paul Joseph Watson

Common sense has finally prevailed in the case of a middle school student arrested after he refused to remove an NRA t-shirt, with criminal charges against 14-year-old Jared Marcum being dismissed by a judge.

Marcum faced a year in jail after being arrested on April 18 by police in Logan County, West Virginia on charges that he ?obstructed an officer? by refusing to stop talking. The incident began when Marcum refused to remove an NRA t-shirt when asked by a teacher.

After Marcum refused to take off the shirt, calmly attempting to explain to school administrators that he was exercising his first amendment right, cops were called solely, "Because I would not take this shirt off, because I believe that I should have a right to wear this," according to Marcum.

The t-shirt featured the words "protect your right" above an image of a hunting rifle, a message the school deemed a violation of its dress code which bars images featuring "profanity, violence, discriminatory messages or sexually suggestive phrases."

Police initially claimed Marcum made "terroristic threats" for daring to exercise his first amendment, but later backed down from that charge.

Despite prosecutors pursuing the case for a planned July 11 court date, Marcum?s attorney was able to persuade them to drop criminal charges and the judge dismissed the obstruction charge, although it remains unclear whether Marcum will face any further action brought by Logan Middle School administrators.

?After a review of statements from the officer and the school?s principal, White says he and a prosecutor agreed that creating a criminal record for Marcum wasn?t a good idea,??reports the Associated Press.

After the story attracted nationwide attention, prosecutors Christopher White and Sabrina Deskins asked Logan County Circuit Judge Eric O?Briant to?impose a gag order?that would have prevented Marcum, his father and his lawyer from discussing the case with the press, an attempt to take the matter ?out of the court of public opinion,? according to Marcum?s attorney Ben White.

After preparing a petition to intervene on the gag order in the interests of the free press, WOWK reporter Charlo Greene was thrown out of the Logan County Courthouse and prevented from presenting her argument on orders of the judge.

Marcum?s treatment attracted national condemnation amongst conservatives and libertarians as it underscored how both authorities and the education system treat the first and second amendments as nuisances to be frowned upon and discouraged.

Since the Sandy Hook shootings last year, there have been?innumerable instances?where schools have reacted with outright panic and hysteria to toy guns, objects shaped like guns or even the mere discussion of guns by students.

16-Year-Old Girl Arrested and Charged With a Felony For Science Project Mistake

No one was hurt. Nothing was damaged. The criminalization of school kids has gone too far.

A Florida teen with an exemplary record is facing federal charges after conducting what a classmate calls "a science project gone bad."

16-year-old Kiera Wilmot is accused of mixing housing chemicals in a small water bottle at Bartow High School, causing the cap to fly off and produce a bit of smoke. The experiment was conducted outdoors, no property was damaged, and no one was injured.

Not long after Wilmot's experiment, authorities arrested her and charged her with "possession/discharge of a weapon on school property and discharging a destructive device," according to WTSP-TV. The school district proceeded to expel Wilmot for handling the "dangerous weapon," also known as a water bottle. She will have to complete her high school education through an expulsion program.

Friends and staffers, including the school principal, came to Wilmot's defense, telling media that authorities arrested an upstanding student who meant no harm.

Illinois Citizens Still Being Arrested For Filming Cops Despite Court Ruling Which Blocked Unconstitutional Law

Follow @infolibnews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src='//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,'script','twitter-wjs'); Naperville woman arrested on eavesdropping charges for recording forced installation of ?smart meter?
Paul Joseph Watson

Illinois citizens are still being arrested for recording police officers despite a 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling last year that blocked the enforcement of the law on the grounds that it was unconstitutional.

Following yesterday?s story concerning residents of Naperville who attempted to resist utility workers invading their private property to install so-called ?smart meters? ? which have been linked with health issues ? it emerged that one of the refusniks, Malia "Kim" Bendis, was arrested on attempted eavesdropping charges for recording police officers during the incident.

The irony of citizens being arrested for supposedly ?eavesdropping? on cops in public where there is no expectation of privacy, while simultaneously the government forcibly installs devices on people?s property that really do eavesdrop on them in total violation of the 4th amendment, is staggering. Remember ? this is a state that threatens to send people to prison for life for recording police officers.

Bendis filmed her friend?s confrontation with city workers and police but at no time attempted to interfere in their actions. The video clip shows an officer asking Bendis not to film him, an order with which she immediately complies.

However, the Chicago Tribune reports that Bendis was arrested and ?Charged with two misdemeanors -- attempted eavesdropping and resisting a peace officer.?

The state of Illinois is still directing its police officers to enforce a law that has repeatedly been found unconstitutional.

As the PINAC blog notes, ?Bendis was charged with misdemeanor eavesdropping which indicates they may have kept the law intact but reduced it to a misdemeanor from a felony. Or more likely means the newspaper wasn't very clear in their reporting,? adding that the Illinois legislature introduced a "technical change" to the law a day before the incident, but that no one seems to be aware of what exactly the change is.

In May 2012, the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the enforcement of a law that made it a felony to film police officers in the state of Illinois. This followed a case involving Illinois resident Michael Allison ? who at one point was facing life in jail for recording cops.

?The Illinois eavesdropping statute restricts far more speech than necessary to protect legitimate privacy interests; as applied to the facts alleged here, it likely violates the First Amendment's free speech and free-press guarantees,? wrote Judge Diane Sykes.

Furthermore, when Cook County State Attorney Anita Alvarez appealed the ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman re-affirmed it. In states all across the country, Americans arrested for filming police officers in public have won their cases. In August 2011, the First Circuit Court of Appeals also ruled that it is not illegal for citizens to videotape police officers when they are on public duty.

Eavesdropping charges against Illinois resident Tiawanda Moore for recording patrol officers were dropped in August 2011, after a "Criminal Court jury quickly repudiated the prosecution's case, taking less than an hour to acquit Moore on both eavesdropping counts."

Despite numerous different courts not only in Illinois but across the United States continually ruling that it is not illegal to record police officers in public, Americans continue to be arrested for doing so.

This sets a dangerous new precedent in America?s decline towards an authoritarian state, where laws that have clearly been blocked as unconstitutional are being enforced illegally on a whim for the convenience of police officers to abuse the rights of citizens without their actions being documented.

Merely Being Arrested Can Ruin Your Life

Follow @infolibnews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src='//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,'script','twitter-wjs'); by William Grigg

"You never have a `right' to resist arrest," insists Des Moines-based attorney Harley Erbe (who is wrong, of course). There are two reasons why Mundanes must immediately submit to "commands" issued by the state's costumed enforcers, Erbe explains:

"First, officers' safety is a [sic] paramount consideration. People always think that their arrests are unfair or unlawful; if citizens then had a right to duke it out with law enforcement every time they held that belief then a lot of officers and citizens would be hurt."

The word "paramount" means "supreme." Thus Erbe is saying that whenever an armed state functionary decides to abduct you at gunpoint, his safety is always the foremost consideration.

Second, Erbe continues, "the streets are not the time or place for a debate on the legality of an arrest or whether the arrestee has committed a crime.? Those are matters to be determined?in courtrooms by judges and juries."

This is a variant of the advice that used to be offered to rape victims: It's safer to submit than to fight back, because resisting will only make matters worse. It also ignores the fact that merely being arrested is sufficient to ruin an innocent person's life -- or at least to steal a considerable portion of it. This is underscored by the case of Pittsburgh resident Sara Reedy, who was both the victim of a sexual assault and an unlawful arrest.

Eight years ago, Reedy -- at the time a 19-year-old expectant mother -- was robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint while working at a convenience store. When the police interviewed her in the hospital, they refused to believe her account, insisting that she had invented the story in order to cover for the theft of about $600 from the till. Rather than pursuing Reedy's assailant, the Pittsburgh police detective -- who belonged to an agency known to harbor rapists in its ranks -- arrested her and charged her with robbery and "false reporting." Although Reedy wasn't prosecuted, she lost her job -- and, eventually, her marriage.

Some months later, the criminal who assaulted Reedy was arrested after he forced himself on another victim. The perpetrator eventually confessed to a number of earlier assaults, including the one against Reedy. She spent seven years and a great deal of money seeking redress through the courts, eventually winning a large civil settlement that fell short of adequately compensating her for what she had experienced.

A recent investigation by the Gainesville Sun found that local police agencies make hundreds of entirely unnecessary arrests every year. The victims are arrested without charge, but the arrest is instantly noted in databases that are used for background checks for employment and housing. Even if the victim's criminal record is expunged, the digital trail cannot be erased.

Many of those arrests are summary punishment for "contempt of cop." Others are made for cynical reasons related to career advancement within the state's punitive priesthood.

Officer Jeff McAdams of the Gainesville Police Department, who is ?president of the Gator Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, told the Sun that GPD Chief Tony Jones expects his officers to "take control of their zones" -- which means making exemplary arrests intended to send a message, rather than led to criminal prosecutions. He also explained that needless arrests of this kind are "encouraged" by supervisors and that building a statistically impressive arrest record is a key to receiving "officer of the month" awards and similar honors.

As defense attorney Craig DeThomasis told the Sun, "We currently live in a world where an arrest destroys somebody's life." That's a small price to pay, apparently, to ensure the safety and enhance the career prospects of the incomparably precious people who compose the state's enforcement caste.

being compliant and docile is not my fckn style chumps, so you better have a good lies and witnesses to back up your thuggary against me and my persons. "First, officers' safety is a [sic] paramount consideration."

About 400 officers are killed in the line of duty each year. They signed up and got paid for a DANGEROUS job before they ever hit the streets. They got the insurance pay-out when they got killed. Family taken care of forever on taxpayer money.

About twice that many officers commit suicide each year.

Officer safety my ass.

Why should an officer's life and safety be placed above anyone else's? Is his life worth more and his safety more important than that of a grocery store employee, gas station attendant, or any other Joe Blow out there?

Santa Claus, also known by his friends as James Peterson, was arrested after spreading holiday cheer and chalk with young people in front of the Texas capitol building on the 21st. An occupy activist who was giving out chalk to children while dressed as Santa was well received in the plaza, but as he left, Texas DPS officers chased him down and handcuffed him. The crowd appears shocked, one woman yelling out in confusion, ?You?re arresting Santa Claus?!?

The jolly red man asks numerous times, ?Why am I being arrested?? After a minute, they tell him that he was chalking the sidewalk. A few in the crowd having filmed the entire time tell police that everyone was chalking, to which a female officer states, ?You?re the only report that we got of chalking.?

Rand Paul Tries to Get Journalist Fired and Arrested

by Michael Suede

An RT reporter was threatened by capitol police and the Senate Relations Committee after asking Rand Paul about his endorsement of Mitt Romney. ?The police threatened to remove all of RT?s press passes for all of their reporters and arrest the journalist in question.

Luke Rudkowski talks with Abby Martin of MediaRoots.org and RT about U.S. Senator Rand Paul's attempt to get her arrested and stripped of her press credentials for asking him tough questions in the Capitol building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtO5INu-VY4

A week after our video with Abby Martin came out on YouTube, the RT office, where Abby works, got an ominous phone call from the Senate Media Relations Committee. The Committee was acting on behalf of Rand Paul and threatened both Abby and the entire RT news organization. The threats included ambiguous "charges" for violating the rules of the Committee floor, Abby's possible arrest and the termination of her and the entire office's press credentials.

After a month of meetings and deliberation, the Senate Media Relations office backed down and did not make good on any of their threats.

The Antiwar Facebook Comment Which Got A 19 Year Old Student Arrested [Pic]

Chris | InformationLiberation

This tame Facebook comment got a 19-year-old student arrested in the United Kingdom.

Azhar Ahmed, 19, is said to have posted the comments on his profile page and has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said Ahmed, of Fir Avenue, Ravensthorpe, was criticising the level of attention the British soldiers who died in a bomb blast received compared to Afghan civilians who have died in the war.

The spokesman said: "He didn't make his point very well and that is why he has landed himself in bother."

What point is made by arresting someone for exercising free speech?

I always did suspect soldiers are a race different from
the real human race .. His English could use some work but it's clear there is nothing to the police charges. Britgov simply wants to make an example of a moral man speaking his peace.

US troops and their proxies are murdering middle eastern civilians. Missile drone drivers and their chain-of-command are murdering middle eastern civilians. A berzerker crew murdered middle eastern civilians. Western politicians are murdering middle eastern civilians.

Their is no difference, *none*, in any of the above groups. They all deserve to be put on trial for crimes-against-humanity.

British tourists arrested in America on terror charges over Twitter jokes

By RICHARD HARTLEY-PARKINSON

Two British tourists were barred from entering America after joking on Twitter that they were going to 'destroy America' and 'dig up Marilyn Monroe'.

Leigh Van Bryan, 26, was handcuffed and kept under armed guard in a cell with Mexican drug dealers for 12 hours after landing in Los Angeles with pal Emily Bunting.

The Department of Homeland Security flagged him as a potential threat when he posted an excited tweet to his pals about his forthcoming trip to Hollywood which read: 'Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?'

After making their way through passport control at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) last Monday afternoon the pair were detained by armed guards.

Despite telling officials the term 'destroy' was British slang for 'party', they were held on suspicion of planning to 'commit crimes' and had their passports confiscated.

4 arrested in alleged government bribery case

By ERIC TUCKER and NEDRA PICKLER

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Two employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and two others were arrested Tuesday in a $20 million bribery and kickback case that prosecutors say helped pay for the purchase of more than a dozen properties, Rolex and Cartier watches, fancy sports cars and hotel accommodations, first-class airline tickets and a trove of other personal luxuries.

Prosecutors say the case may be one of the largest procurement fraud schemes in the nation's history.

An indictment unsealed Tuesday includes charges of bribery, conspiracy and unlawful kickbacks. The two Army Corps employees, Kerry F. Khan, a program manager, and Michael A. Alexander, a program director, received kickbacks in exchange for directing government contracts to a subcontractor specializing in software encryption devices and other information technology, prosecutors say. The men had the authority either to order products and services through government contracts or to secure funding for projects.

Also charged are Khan's son, Lee A. Khan, who prosecutors say controlled a consulting company with his father and also benefited from the scheme, and Harold F. Babb, the director of contracts for Eyak Technology LLC. Eyak Technology is a subsidiary of an Alaska native corporation with Virginia operations. It was the prime contractor for a five-year, $1 billion contract administered by the Army Corps of Engineers.

The alleged scheme, which authorities say spanned roughly four years, involved phony and inflated invoices for government contracts and millions of dollars in kickbacks that were funneled through a network of shell companies in the United States and around the world.
