British Ambassador Tells of UK Media’s Hypocrisy

A former British ambassador has shed light on the British media’s hypocrisy in covering the anti-regime protests in Bahrain as recent reports tell of Britain’s role in suppressing Bahraini protesters.

Craig Murray, a human rights activist and former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, has lashed out at the state-funded BBC for its coverage of the Bahraini regime’s brutal crackdown on protesters. “The Shiite majority does suffer discrimination, but the rest of the population is getting fed up with the continual disruption and demonstrations,” Murray quoted the BBC’s Frank Gardner as saying while he described the Bahraini regime forces’ crackdown on protesters.

Murray also made a comparison between the British media’s coverage of Bahraini people’s revolution and the way the western media covered the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. The two descriptions contained identical words while the words “black majority” were used instead of “Shiite majority” in the report quoted by Murray which described the way western media covered the anti-apartheid movement.

This comes as recent reports have shed more light on the role Britain plays in the brutal crackdown on the Bahraini people. As the Bahraini people took to the streets to mark the anniversary of the dawn of their revolution, Bahraini regime’s forces employed weapons and tactics which were imported from the UK.

Britain’s former Metropolitan police assistant commissioner John Yates, who was forced to resign following the phone-hacking scandal, popped up in Bahrain to help the regime oversee “police reforms.”

However, the reforms seem to be the use of tear gas and stun grenades and the introduction of “kettling” tactics to the Bahraini regime’s security forces. Bahrain’s “police reforms” overseen by Britain is not restricted to tactics. Official figures revealed that the British government sold over £1m worth of rifles and military equipment to the Bahraini regime from July to September last year.

British tourists arrested in America on terror charges over Twitter jokes

Two British tourists were barred from entering America after joking on Twitter that they were going to 'destroy America' and 'dig up Marilyn Monroe'.

Leigh Van Bryan, 26, was handcuffed and kept under armed guard in a cell with Mexican drug dealers for 12 hours after landing in Los Angeles with pal Emily Bunting.

The Department of Homeland Security flagged him as a potential threat when he posted an excited tweet to his pals about his forthcoming trip to Hollywood which read: 'Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?'

After making their way through passport control at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) last Monday afternoon the pair were detained by armed guards.

Despite telling officials the term 'destroy' was British slang for 'party', they were held on suspicion of planning to 'commit crimes' and had their passports confiscated.

British prime minister admits cosy secret relationship between media corporations

The prime minister of Britain, David Cameron, has publicly admitted the "cosy" covert relationship between politicians and the corporate mass media, and even acknowledged that it is wrong,

Cameron made his confession in an attempt to distance himself from the emerging News of the World phone hacking scandal, in which Rupert Murdoch's media empire has been caught illegally hacking into the phones of numerous high-profile people, while paying illegal bribes to senior police officers in key roles such as royal protection. There are also clear indications of blackmail being used to control those involved on the periphery of the vast Zionist media conspiracy, for example police officers explaining that they concealed the truth because they feared that "dirt" on them (e.g. extra-marital affairs) would be revealed.

Murdoch is a Jewish Zionist and a "kingmaker". He controls the world's largest news media network. The only larger media organization in the world is Disney. The Sun, which is just one of the tabloid newspapers he owns in Britain, is read by more people than all the broadsheet newspapers combined, bestowing upon him the power to control voters and determine election results. He personally held a special meeting with the current British prime minister (David Cameron) before he was elected, and a special meeting with the previous prime minister (Tony Blair) before he was elected. His newspapers openly boasted that it was their influence that decided the election result.

Human Rights Abused, As 62% Arrested Over The British Riots Are Now In Prison

Around 62% of those arrested over involvement in Britain’s recent unrest have been imprisoned while only 10% of them allegedly have committed serious offences.

The rest of the arrested people who have not committed any serious offences are to be kept behind bars for an unknown period of time. Human rights organizations have announced that the British government has decided to keep all arrested people in custody until trial.

The British Police have ordered Britain’s courts to refuse to bail the arrested even after they have been charged. The arrested people are to stay behind bars for a longer time as the British government has taken such an “iron fist” approach.

However, as the arrested people’s solicitors have asserted, 62% of the arrested have been imprisoned while they have not been arraigned. What has caused great concern among human rights activists is that only 10% of these people have been charged with serious offences and the rest can be released either on bail or without having to pay bail.

Nonetheless, the British government has refused to free them. Moreover, the British Police have supported the government’s “iron fist” policy describing it as an initiative that would prevent the spread of unrest across Britain in the future.

Meanwhile, the coalition government’s officials have clashed over taking such strict approaches toward the protesters. Former Liberal Democrat leader, Sir Menzies Campbell, rejected the British Prime Minister David Cameron’s remarks that what he called “twisting and misrepresenting of human rights” have led to the unprecedented unrest across Britain.

Campbell warned Cameron against any measures that would question Britain’s commitment to human rights issues. He asserted that tackling Britain’s unrest should not pave the way for Cameron’s interference in the principles of the Human Rights Act, which preserves the European Convention of Human Rights in British law.

These conflicts and concerns come as human rights organizations have stated that keeping those arrested over the recent unrest behind bars for an unknown period of time without arraigning them constitutes an example of human rights violation as they have called on the government to inform the arrested of their charges and rights.

British Prime Minister admits Israel uses Palestine as 'a prison camp'

David Cameron: Gaza 'must not remain a prison camp'

Gaza is a 'prison camp', according to David Cameron, who made the comment as he pledged to support Turkey's bid to join the European Union.

He appealed to Israel to allow the free flow of humanitarian goods and people in and out of the Palestinian territory.

The prime minister spoke during a visit to Turkey, where relations with Israel have been strained since May when troops stormed a flotilla of ships carrying supplies to Gaza. Eight Turks and one Turkish-American were killed.

Speaking in Ankara, Mr Cameron denounced it as ?completely unacceptable? and restated his call for Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu to deliver a ?swift, transparent and rigorous? inquiry.

Israel?s blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has severely limited the movement of people and goods since 2007, has sparked outrage in Islamic Turkey.

?The situation in Gaza has to change. Humanitarian goods and people must flow in both directions,? Mr Cameron said. ?Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp.?

Mr Cameron also said Turkey?s support for action in Afghanistan would help earn it a place in the EU.

?When I think about what Turkey has done to defend Europe as a Nato ally, and what Turkey is doing today in Afghanistan, it makes me angry that your progress towards EU membership can be frustrated in the way it has been,? he added.

Pointing to economic growth of 11 per cent this year and a population of 72 million, he said allowing Turkey into the EU would be great for British trade.

But several countries remain strongly opposed to Turkey?s membership.

Turkey?s treatment of its Kurdish minority, its involvement in the Cyprus dispute and its refusal to open its ports to Greek Cypriot goods have delayed negotiations on membership.
