"I discovered for some reason his employer was withholding a large amount some weeks a small amount some weeks a zero amount some weeks," says Hall's attorney Tyesha Elam.

So Hall quickly paid almost 3 grand in back child support.

When Hall and his ex were in Judge Lisa Millard's court last November he owed nothing. "Opposing counsel testified twice that he's all paid up," says Elam.

But the attorney representing the child's mother wanted Hall to pay her three grand in attorney fees and Judge Millard agreed.

Court documents also reveal Hall wasn't following the court's scheduled times to pick his son up for visitation."

No word of overpayment; it looks like Clifford was underpaying for some time (blaming the employer), and that's why the mother sued. When Clifford learned about lawsuit, he quickly paid up, but the mother wanted attorney fees, which is reasonable. So the prison term seems to be for _under_payment before the lawsuit plus for visiting not on schedule.

That sounds more logical , if reports on the site are not verified the credibility of the site comes in to question . There are enough "real" stories out there without having to mis-represent or distort the truth , after all thats what we come here to read . Yes, I agree there are some inaccuracies in the report. I didn't check it enough before posting it, my apologies. The over paid claim came from his lawyer who said he "over paid" and "over visited."

"I'm like he couldn't have gotten a worse result," Elam says. "He could have gone in there with a monkey and gotten a better result. What did I do that my client has over paid over visited and is now paying 3 thousand dollars in attorney fees and is going to jail for 6 months."

This show how screwed up this legal system is. If he didn't pay his child support, he would be just like a lot of these dead beat men out here that is not providing for their children. They would be out here walking around free. Teenager Jailed for Sarcastic League of Legends Comment, Facing 8 Years in Prison

A teenager from Texas could spend the next eight years in prison if a court decides that the sarcastic comment he made during an online argument is enough to convict him of issuing a terroristic threat.

Justin Carter was only 18 years old when he and a friend got into an online spat over Facebook back in February with another person. They were arguing about the computer game ?League of Legends,? his dad told a local ABC affiliate, but one snarky remark made by the teen was apparently enough to raise suspicion in one woman who was watching the conversation unfold all the way up in Canada.

?Someone had said something to the effect of 'Oh you're insane, you're crazy, you're messed up in the head,?? father Jack Carter told KKVUE News, ?to which he replied 'Oh yeah, I'm real messed up in the head, I'm going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts.??

According to the parent, the teenager from Texas followed up that remark with the phrases ?LOL? and ?JK?? Internet shorthand for ?Laugh out Loud? and ?Just Kidding.? The Canadian witness wasn?t amused, however, and reportedly conducted a cursory Google search to find out more about the sarcastic gamer. That information led her to learn that the Carter household is located close to a local elementary school, prompting her to alert the police.

Carter, who has since turned 19, was arrested in late March and has so far spent three months and one day behind bars. His trial is slated to begin in July, and if convicted of ?making a terroristic threat? he could spend most of his twenties in federal prison.

Under Texas law, a person could be charged with a misdemeanor if he or she ?threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property? with the intent to prompt a reaction, cause fear in another or interrupt the occupation of a public place. If the defendant is thought to have made a threat to cause impairment or interruption of a public service, it?s a felony in the Lone Star State.

?These people are serious. They really want my son to go away to jail for a sarcastic comment that he made," Jack Carter told KVUE.

It?s likely that the timing of the teenager?s quip ? only two months after the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting left 26 people dead in Connecticut ? didn?t discourage authorities from launching an investigation. His father said his son didn?t mean anything of it, though, and was just being behaving like an average teenager.

?Justin was the kind of kid who didn't read the newspaper. He didn't watch television. He wasn't aware of current events. These kids, they don't realize what they're doing. They don't understand the implications. They don't understand public space,? said Jack Carter.

?If I can just help one person to understand that social media is not a playground, that when you go out there into social media, when you use Facebook, when you use Twitter, when you go out there and make comments on news articles, and the things you are saying can and will be used against you," he said.

Carter?s trial is expected to begin July 1 in Texas. Earlier this month, a grand jury in Massachusetts declined to indict an 18-year-old aspiring rapper who was accused of making terrorist threats after posting prose on his Facebook page that referenced the Boston Marathon bombing. Cameron B. D?Ambrosio was detained for one month in jail and stood to serve as much as two decades if convicted.

Oklahoma Woman Seeks Medical Treatment, Is Jailed Instead, Dies

A pregnant Oklahoma woman who went to a hospital seeking treatment for extreme pain was instead jailed after police found pain pills on her and died in jail shortly thereafter. Jamie Lynn Russell, 33, becomes the third person to die in US domestic drug law enforcement operations so far this year.

According to KFOR-TV News Channel 4 in Oklahoma City, Russell went to the hospital in Pauls Valley seeking help for severe abdominal pain. Hospital staff reported that Russell wouldn't cooperate and was in too much pain to even lie down, so they asked a Paul's Valley police officer to assist.

And that's when Russell's medical emergency morphed into a drug bust. The police officer found two prescription pills on her for which she did not have a prescription, so she was arrested and jailed on drug possession charges. She was found unresponsive in her cell less than two hours later.

"There is nothing my staff in the jail could?ve done differently,? Garvin County sheriff Larry Rhodes said. "She had a medical release from the hospital stating that she was fit for incarceration," Rhodes said. "It?s very regrettable for the family. My heart and prayers go out to them."

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has cleared the jail staff of any criminal wrongdoing.

The state medical examiner's office later confirmed that Russell died from a ruptured ecoptic pregnancy, where the embryo implants outside the uterus.

Russell's friends and family are pointing the finger at the hospital. "Jamie was seeking help; she was in extreme pain," family friend Kemper Kimberlin told KFOR. "We want to see this come to light. Something's wrong and needs to be fixed."

It may take a civil wrongful death lawsuit to find out exactly what's wrong?and how a hospital can turn a pain-tormented woman over to police to be jailed instead of treated.

In this society, there's nothing more important than enforcing the law. The most trivial and benign law violation, no victims, no damage, trumps any other consideration, human life included.

I can imagine that by the way things are arranged, neither police officer, nor hospital staff couldn't act differently without risking their own careers or maybe even their own liberty - once the pill was discovered.

City to pay $1.25 million to man jailed 12 years for a crime he did not commit

Chicago taxpayers will spend $1.25 million to compensate a man who spent 12 years in prison for a rape and murder he did not commit after allegedly being beaten and coerced into a false confession by detectives working under Jon Burge.

The body of 39-year-old Kathy Morgan was discovered in an abandoned and torched South Side building in October, 1990. The victim had been raped, beaten and strangled.

Eighteen months later, Harold Hill was questioned about Morgan?s murder after being arrested on an unrelated charge. A teenager at the time, Hill claims that he confessed only after being hit, threatened and force-fed a false version of events by Belmont Area detectives.

Here are the booking photos (click to enlarge) of the eight members of an Amish sect who were ordered jailed by a Kentucky judge after they refused to pay fines for failing to affix orange safety triangles to their horse-drawn buggies.

The men, who were booked Monday night into the Graves County jail, refused to pay the fines on grounds that their religion bars them from wearing or displaying bright colors. Jailed for misdemeanor contempt of court, the inmates were provided dark-colored jumpsuits in place of the standard issue orange coveralls.

17-yr-old student arrested and jailed for wearing skirt to school
