Cop Trying to Kill the Family Dog, Kills Woman Instead, In Front of her Husband and 4-year-old Son

By Matt Agorist

Burlington, IA ? A Burlington Police officer, supervising a domestic dispute, shot and killed a woman in front of her house Tuesday morning.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Autumn Steele. The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), who is leading the investigation,?has not released the name of the officer who shot her.

There is no indication that Steele or her husband were armed or that they posed a threat to the officer involved.

According to court records Steele was arrested Monday night on a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse. She was released from the jail and told that she?could not return to the home without?a police officer escort in order to gather her belongings.

Steele then returned to the home with her police officer escort, the same person that would later kill her.

As her husband, Gabriel Steele, was loading up their 4-year-old son, Steele came out of the house and got into an altercation with him. She was followed by the dog.

When the escort officer saw the disturbance he went to break it up. Witnesses say that at this time the dog was being playful, but apparently still threatened the officer which caused him to draw his pistol and begin shooting.

One of the shots fired struck Steele in the chest.

?The dog startled the officer. The officer began shooting at the dog. The officer was still shooting when he fell down in the snow,? one witness told The Hawk Eye Newspaper.

?It appeared he was shooting at the dog when (the officer) fell to the ground. It?s my belief the woman was shot accidentally,? said another witness.

Seconds after the shooting another Burlington officer arrived on the scene?and both officers?tried to calm Gabriel Steele, who wanted to help his wife.

?I?m a combat veteran,? he screamed. ?What are you guys (police) doing? Let me help.?

Steele was eventually taken by ambulance?to the Great River Medical Center where she later died of the gunshot wound to the chest.

This is a tragic case of police incompetence. The very government agency who claims the authority to carry deadly weapons into all situations often disregard this heavy responsibility and end up hurting those they ostensibly protect.

> he was shooting at the dog when (the officer) fell to the ground.

Something does not fit. Fell to the ground while shooting, and then already from the ground was still shooting and hit her in the chest?

Combat Veteran storms City Hall Cuntsel Meeting, Murders Everyone inside. Priceless. The stupid fucker. At least neglegent homicide. Glad it happened. Am I the only one to think the concept of 'domestic abuse',
in your own house, as applied in this case, is borderline perverted ?
Or how about
' could not return to the home without a police officer escort in order to gather her belongings' ??
I don't get it -
What where they 'protecting' her from ? Living ??
It was just a matter of time till this happened. If you discharge a weapon in an urban environment every 98 minutes in an effort to kill some hapless canine then human collateral damage will, will, will, eventually be a consequence. As a majority of homes with dogs also have children, I am am very surprised these same children haven't been killed by missed shots, ricochets, and in general just poor marksmanship. No doubt as the killing will be ruled "accidental" and "during the performance" of his so called duty the leo will face no consequences whatsoever. On the contrary, he will most likely get a promotion, a raise and a medal for valor or some-such.

New York Family Left Homeless After Police Rip Down Walls to Serve DWI Warrant

"She really has lost all the stability in her life in one fell swoop," a local pastor explained of the widow.

DANBY, NY ? A family has been left homeless after law enforcement agencies destroyed their entire house in the process of serving a warrant for a man for driving while intoxicated.

The home of David and Melissa Cady was condemned after armored police vehicles plowed through several walls while attempting to get 36-year-old Mr. Cady to surrender. A bench warrant had been issued after Mr. Cady missed a court appearance August 26, 2014, regarding his DWI conviction. On December 30th, 2014, a SWAT team moved in to make the arrest.

With the home at 127 Hornbrook Road surrounded, Melissa and the two children peacefully exited upon request. But David Cady did not, and police spent extensive resources to perform a lengthy standoff, resulting in his death.

?I?ve known him for like 12 years,? said friend and neighbor Dave McCarthy to the Ithaca Journal. ?He?s been a good neighbor, he?s got a wife, two nice kids, a dog.?

Police cordoned off roughly 20 other homes while besieging the Cady residence. Neighbors were not allowed to return after leaving their homes on the 1.7-mile stretch of restricted roadway.

Police suspected Mr. Cady was armed. On the evening of December 30th, police say that a single shot was fired. It was the only shot of the entire standoff.

After this shot, Mr. Cady stopped communicating with police. Police proceeded to break down the walls to with armored vehicles to ?restrict his movement,? and shot teargas into the house until 61 hours had passed, when they finally realized their suspect had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Soon after, Danby Code Enforcement declared the home to be unlivable and condemned the property.

Resident Kory Watkins uploaded a video of the the Cady?s former house, which now features gaping holes and mounds of debris scattered across the yard.

Watkins captioned the video: ?All for a warrant. A violation of Probation for a D.W.I. and it took over 150 officers from over 18 agencies and military vehicles with more than 50 bombs of tear gas to end this like this?UNNECESSARY!?

The stunning turn of events left Mrs. Cady and her two children with no father and no home.

?She [Mrs. Cady] really has lost all the stability in her life in one fell swoop,? explained Pastor Ed Enstine of Danby Federated Church. ?She's basically lived her own life and worked and doesn't take handouts very easily, but in this case she's basically back to square 1 ? square 0, at this point.?

In a showing of charity, Pastor Enstine is organizing a fundraiser to help get the Cady family back on their feet. See details below.

The Ithaca Journal reported that over a dozen agencies were involved with the standoff, including Ithaca Police Department, Cornell University Police, Ithaca College Public Safety, Ithaca Fire Department, New York State Police, New York State Park Police, Cayuga County Sheriff?s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Syracuse Police Department, Elmira Police Department, Broome County Sheriff?s Office, Onondaga County Sheriff?s Office, and Tompkins County Office of Emergency Management.

HELP THE CADY FAMILY

A relief fund has been established by Pastor Ed Enstine at the Danby Federated Church. Checks should be made payable to Danby Federated Church. Write in the memo section: ?Cady Relief Fund.?

The straw that broke the camel's back. I bet they all went for a drink after. They got zooted before going on that MISSION, then destroyed a familys life.they will talk and laugh about the destruction for days. The camel's back has been broken for years, they just repair it with lies upon more lies Looks like a great way to "use or lose" those military assault vehicles. I hope that all "peace" officers that do these things in the name of law, without conscience or regard to peoples safety or property learn a hard lesson some time soon...and that is "live by the gun, die by the gun". May they and their families feel the pain and uncertainty brought on by the realization that they aren't protected from anyone in time of need and the complete and utter helplessness that they should feel as they have done unto others will be the only justice those that have felt the same done unto them will have.

Police Shoot Toothless 16-Year-Old Family Dog During No-Knock Raid

RABUN, AL ? A family feels violated after their home was subject to an unannounced, no-knock raid and their gentle family dog was shot by a deputy.

The all too familiar scenario played out in Alabama as it has thousands of other times throughout the country.?? Deputies intruded into a family residence with no knock, no announcement, and no permission.? The family pet, curious and scared, approached the unwelcome strangers to investigate.? The family pet was shot, and deputies? justified their shoot with claims that the family disputes.

Such was the experience of the Fretwells who live on Stacey Drive in Rabun, Alabama.? On Friday, November 22nd, their aging family companion was shot by a Baldwin County deputy who had entered their home without permission.

?She?s gentle, she has a caring soul, she wouldn?t hurt anything and she never has, we?ve never had this problem ever,? said homeowner Angel Fretwell.

The Fretwells? dog, Belle, is 16 years old, can barely get around, and has lost all of her teeth.

Upon hearing the four strangers in her home she approached deputies.? They claim they had to shoot Belle for fear of their lives when she allegedly came after them.? But the family disputes that claim.? The Fretwells claim that Belle ran before she was shot in the shoulder.

After shooting their pet, deputies wouldn?t let the family care for her for over 1 hour.

They claim to have been searching for a relative of the Fretwells, who was not in the home.

Veterinarians say that Belle has a chance to survive, but will lose her leg and require a $1,000.00 surgery.

Between the use of no-knock raids on family residences and the cowardly shooting of family pets, concerned citizens have a lot to address with the Baldwin County Sheriff?s Office.? Only citizen activism can curb aggressive police tactics and acquire accountability.

?They have to be cautious,? Fretwell said to WPMI Local 15 News.? ?I just think that maybe if they would have announced themselves or give it some kind of warning or anything at that point I think it would?ve helped this situation a lot.?

i don't know why anyone tolerates a no-knock raid,

i don't know why anyone tolerates a roadside cavity search,

i don't know why anyone tolerates having an M4 pointed in their face,

i only know that we are sinning by tolerating it, and will continue to suffer for our sins.

people don't shoot creeps because they are afraid of earthly death, and that is the sin; don't fear earthly death, be willing to give up your earthly life to fight back when evil attacks, everywhere and anywhere it attacks.

you need to know this:

- their souls are already sold to satan, you can not help them

- this is a challenge to YOUR SOUL, YOURS still has a chance to be saved; yes Jesus did die for our sins, and as He said to the prostitute after forgiving her, "go and sin no more", once you believe in Jesus you need to be willing to behave as such, that doesn't mean you'll be perfect but it means you should constantly prepare your mind, heart, and soul, to do the dangerous things when the challenge is put to you.

Pray for courage to stand up against evil and die by evil's hand.
if a challenge comes up and you cowered in fear as Peter denied Christ 3 times, then afterwards repent of this and prepare to not make that same sin the next time. God gives you chances to redeem yourself, but you must prepare your heart/mind/soul or you will fail again.

To police:
your "job" is not to "follow orders", your "job" is to "follow the law", and you are not doing that and you know it. every single one of you is on such thin ice or else you are utterly lost already and nothing you do now will save you. to the rare few who are still on that thin ice - God sees all, God will be Judging you, it is not "sovereign citizens" or such you need to fear, it is GOD that you need to fear.

Someone - anyone - please fight back against home invasions by thugs in costumes. Fighting back is exactly the missing piece the thugs need in order to shoot the whole family. Look what happened when there was manhunt for Dorner - they were opening fire at the cars at the highway, and it was all "justified".

We live in democratic society, and what needs to happen next is public officials losing or seriously risking their political careers.

@nonymous 208163 comprehends the dialect. The mention of Dorner, does give me cause for concern, however, no network node in their right mind, would bring up the past....so, presumably, 208163 is deprogrammed?

@nonymous 208163, do you know the true reason, for Dorner's murder?

Q: @nonymous 18443, about a year ago, weren't you the person who posted that there would be a "special place in hell for all of us"?

@208163
"We live in democratic society, and what needs to happen next is
public officials losing or seriously risking their political careers."
Ha ! So many Americans STILL clinging to that "domocracy" crap , it's no wonder the powers -that-be continue to treat you like they do . Turkeys don't vote for christmas , the elites ain't gonna relinquish power without a fight , time to step up to the plate & be counted my friends . Good luck ? It will continue to get worse until stopped. Power so corrupt as the government will not return power to the people. There is no chance for a police officer to remain honest. The first time he fails to report a fellow officers breaking the law he becomes just another crooked cop.

Georgia teen was stuffed with newspaper after death, family lawyer says

By Elizabeth Chuck, Staff Writer, NBC News

The mysterious death of a Georgia teen has taken a bizarre twist with the revelation that an autopsy of his exhumed remains found his internal organs missing and his body stuffed with newspaper.

The family of Kendrick Johnson, 17, of Valdosta, Ga., was "outraged" and "devastated" by the discovery and believes his death was a murder that is being covered up, a lawyer representing them said Thursday.

Johnson, a three-sport athlete, was found dead on Jan. 11 in a rolled-up wrestling mat in his high school gym. State medical examiners concluded that he accidentally suffocated while trying to retrieve a sneaker.

Perhaps it was a state employee that committed the crime. Seems for sure the school wishes it to disappear. Not handing over video footage lets all sorts of theories arise. With respect to the removal of the young man's internal organs and the subsequent stuffing of his corpse with newspapers, I would suspect the person who performed the first autopsy, or perhaps the person who prepared the body for burial. They both would have had the opportunity to commit this sort of mutilation. There is a black market for human organs, and not all are sold for transplantation into living people.

Students Taught That Government Is "Family": A Caretaker That Should Be Obeyed

SKOKIE, IL ? A homework assignment was given to children at a public school which revealed the true nature of this nation?s education model: to condition impressionable young people to accept the paternal role of the state; trusting, accepting, and obeying the state?s wishes as you would your own family.? This familial role of the state has been formally advocated since the onset of public education in America.

Fourth-graders at East Prairie School in Skokie, Illinois, were distributed an assignment titled, ?What is Government??

The assignment was prefaced with a statement that caused a stir with some parents.? The worksheet stated:

?Government is like a nation?s family.? Families take care of each other and make sure they are safe, healthy, educated, and free to enjoy life.? Families encourage children to be independent, hardworking, and responsible.? Families make and enforce rules and give appropriate punishments when rules are broken.? Government does these things for its citizens, too.?
The worksheet goes on to make a series of analogies between the state of families in the form of questions.? It can be viewed below.

Assignment given to children in compulsory government schools. (Source: TheBlaze)

This worksheet, while shocking to some, is completely in line with the foundation and intent of the American public education system.? To illustrate this, we must review some forgotten (buried) history.

Police Raid Wrong House, Kill Family Dog & Make Children Sit With Its Bloody Corpse

by J. D. Heyes

There are times when, despite the potential seriousness of a crime, a little compassion is in order for those and their families, for children cannot be held responsible for the crimes of their parents.

They especially should not be made to suffer if their parents are actually innocent of any crimes.

So it's with no small helping of disdain we bring you the story of a wrongly accused suspect whose family was made to suffer needlessly because a St. Paul, Minn., storm-trooper drug task force kicked in the wrong door.

According to a lawsuit filed in federal court in Minneapolis, members of the St. Paul Police Dept. drug unit broke down the door to the home of lead plaintiff Roberto Franco and shot the family dog before handcuffing all nine occupants - including three children - who were then forced "to sit next to the carcass of their dead and bloody pet for more than an hour." The suit states the anti-drug team continued to search Franco's property even after realizing they raided the wrong house.

It used to be, in America, that you were innocent until proven guilty. Even taking into consideration the dangerous nature of police work, the very act of storming someone's home to make an arrest presumes guilt more than it recognizes a potential danger, making goofs like kicking in the wrong door all the more heinous.

Adding insult to injury by cuffing kids and making them sit next to the family's dead dog is just despicable. You can't make this stuff up.

Try next door

The suit, filed against the officers of the Dakota County Drug Task Force, the St. Paul Police Department, and a federal Drug Enforcement Agency officer who was along for the ride apparently, claims essentially that the task force raided the wrong house, noting that the squad should have gone next door.

Lead plaintiff Franco, in the suit, said Officer Shawn Scovill, who led the raid, "provided false information to a Minnesota District Court judge in order to obtain a search warrant."

"Defendant Scovill lied when he informed the District Court judge who reviewed Scovill's search warrant application that Scovill had obtained information from the confidential informant that the plaintiffs' home was the properly targeted house and that the address and the identity of the individuals who resided therein were the plaintiffs," it says.

The complaint says the suspect named in the warrant is one Rafael Ybarra; Franco wasn't named in the search warrant at all, nor was anyone else living in the home, making the resultant hour-long search of his premises even more difficult to understand.

Officers charged with 'brutalizing' the family

"There was never a mention of the plaintiff, Roberto Franco, in any documents related to the raid search warrant," says the complaint, adding that Franco "had never been discussed or considered a suspect by law enforcement, Scovill, or any of the defendants directly or indirectly involved in the raid, relative to any alleged involvement by Franco in any distribution of contraband prior to the wrong house raid.

Officers burst through Franco's door on the night of July 13, 2010. The complaint said the team acted "negligently" in "raiding the wrong home," charging officers with "brutalizing" all of the home's occupants.

The complaint goes on to say that another plaintiff, Analese Franco, "was forced, virtually naked, from her bed onto the floor at gunpoint by officers," who breached the home "at gun and rifle point."

"Each plaintiff was forced to the floor at gun and rifle point and handcuffed behind their backs," the complaint says. "Defendants shot and killed the family dog and forced the handcuffed children to sit next to the carcass of their dead and bloody pet for more than an hour while defendants continued to search the plaintiffs' home."

The suit seeks $30 million in compensation for civil rights violations and punitive damages.

Family Says Police Raid Was Wrong & Vile from Top to Bottom

By DIONNE CORDELL-WHITNEY

MINNEAPOLIS (CN) - After breaking down doors and shooting the family dog, a drug task force forced handcuffed children "to sit next to the carcass of their dead and bloody pet for more than an hour," and kept searching even after they knew they were raiding the wrong house, the family claims in Federal Court.

All nine occupants of the home, including three children, sued the officers, the state and Ramsey County in Federal Court.

Defendants include members of the Dakota County Drug Task Force, the St. Paul Police force, and a DEA agent.

Lead plaintiff Roberto Franco claims the task force raided the wrong house: that they should have gone next door.

Franco claims that Task Force Officer Shawn Scovill, who orchestrated the raid, "provided false information to a Minnesota District Court judge in order to obtain a search warrant. Defendant Scovill lied when he informed the District Court judge who reviewed Scovill's search warrant application that Scovill had obtained information from the confidential informant that the plaintiffs' home was the properly targeted house and that the address and the identity of the individuals who resided therein were the plaintiffs."

The complaint adds: The search warrant specifically named Rafael Ybarra as the intended target suspect. Plaintiff Roberto Franco was not named in the search warrant, nor was any person who lived in the raided house named in the search warrant.

Friends and family will protest deputy killing of innocent Leesburg man

By Erica Rodriguez, Orlando Sentinel

Friends, family and likely some customers of the Leesburg pizza delivery man shot by deputies this week will gather downtown Tavares to demand answers from law enforcement Thursday.

About 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a Lake County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed 26-year-old Andrew Lee Scott after he opened the door to his apartment armed with a gun. Deputies were on the hunt for attempted murder suspect Jonathan Brown, 31, who allegedly severely beat a man and fled the scene on a motorcycle within the same hour. Deputies saw the motorcycle parked in front of Scott's apartment and knocked on his door without announcing themselves expecting to find Brown. A Sheriff's Office spokesman said Scott pointed the gun at the three deputies and one deputy responded with deadly force. Brown was later found in a nearby building and arrested.

Brian Evey, Scott's friend and manager at Hungry Howie's Pizza, said the group wants to know why the deputy shot and killed Scott and more about the deputies' decision that night not to announce their presence.

At 1:30 in the morning, they are on the hunt?

Only scum would come banging on your door on 1:30am,
or someone in trouble.

Of course he answers the door with protection.

Now they kill ya for protecting yourself.

Protect and Serve the People

Don't open your door at 1:30 am, call Police!

Let intruders break in, Than protect yourself.

i agree with the last poster. Let them kick the door in then, protect yourself. i learned a long time ago that ,if you accidentally draw on a cop, whatever you do, do not lower your weapon because, they will shoot you anyway. If you have a gun you may as well start blazing because, again they aren't going to ask questions until they've shot you. It's very unfortunate but, the police have built this fear with their tactics. The sad part is when people began to do like the cops and shoot first and a few cops die they will only make examples of those people in court instead of changing policy.

Family net worth plummets 40%

By Charles Riley

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The average American family's net worth dropped almost 40% between 2007 and 2010, according to a triennial study released Monday by the Federal Reserve.

The stunning drop in median net worth -- from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010 -- indicates that the recession wiped away 18 years of savings and investment by families.

The Fed study, called the Survey of Consumer Finances, offers details on savings, income, debt, as well as assets and investments owned by American families.

The results, though more than a year old, highlight the marked deterioration in household finances brought on by the financial crisis and ensuing recession.

Much of the drop off in net worth -- to levels not seen since 1992 -- was attributable to a sharp decline in housing values, the Fed said.

Obama Regime to Ban Children from Doing Work on Family Farms

Via: Daily Caller:

A proposal from the Obama administration to prevent children from doing farm chores has drawn plenty of criticism from rural-district members of Congress. But now it's attracting barbs from farm kids themselves.

The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child-labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families' land.

Under the rules, children under 18 could no longer work "in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials."

"Prohibited places of employment," a Department press release read, "would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions."

The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government's approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.

Rossie Blinson, a 21-year-old college student from Buis Creek, N.C., told The Daily Caller that the federal government's plan will do far more harm than good.

"The main concern I have is that it would prevent kids from doing 4-H and FFA projects if they're not at their parents' house," said Blinson.

"I started showing sheep when I was four years old. I started with cattle around 8. It's been very important. I learned a lot of responsibility being a farm kid."

I grew up on a dairy farm. I have both fond and not-so-fond memories of herding cattle back into their pasture after breaking the fence down at 3 AM when i was 8 and 9 years old. I learned to drive a tractor when I was twelve, and I showed my first bull at a fair when I was seven! Alot of my work and time on the farm taught me great responsibility, as well as gave me something to do that other kids didn't have. I had something produced of my own work, and at a young age, that I could be proud of. This is horrible, it really is. If I didn't have that as a child, if I didn't have my 4-H club, I don't think I would be so well-adjusted.

Family Sues School District In Student's Death

SAN ANTONIO -- At just 14, Derek Lopez was shot and killed last November.

The shooter was a Northside Independent School District police officer, who said he saw Lopez fighting with another student and began chasing him.

Now months later, that is all that remains clear.

"It was literally one punch thrown, that was it," Lopez's lawyer, Wallace Brylak, said.
