No Charges Against Chicago Cop Who Drank Several Beers Before Shooting Unarmed Man in Back

Cook County prosecutors spent two years conducting an ?exhaustive? investigation on a Chicago police officer who drank several before beers before shooting a man to death after the man pointed a cell phone at him.

Yet not once during those two years did prosecutors speak to officer Gildardo Sierra, who had shot two other men in the six months prior to the 2011 shooting, including one fatally.

The shooting, which was caught on a dash cam video, was enough for Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy to acknowledge that allowing Sierra back on the streets after the first two incidents was a mistake.

U.S. Park Police Harass Journalist for Recording Cop Car Lights Before Calling his Job and Complaining

A journalist was harassed by U.S. Park police for video recording police lights on top of a patrol car from a public sidewalk in Washington D.C. Friday.

Officer T.W. Twiname chased after Arash Arabasadi as he was walking into his girlfriend?s building, demanding to know his name.

Arabasadi, who works for Voice of America and teaches journalism at Howard University, provided his first name, but then had second thoughts when the cops started jotting his name down in a notepad.

?Can I ask why you?re taking this report?? Arabasadi asked.

?Once you give me this information, I will explain everything to you, ok,? Twiname responded.

?Am I under arrest?? Arabasadi asked.

?Nope.?

?Then I?m going back inside.?

And he did.

But he came back out to ask the cop for his name and badge number.

?Do you make it a habit to harass citizens who are just out here taking pictures and video?? Arabasadi asked.

Twiname told him to have a nice day and walked away.

Twiname then contacted the human resources department at Voice of America to complain about Arabasadi.

Carmen Ortiz Refuses To Reflect; Insists Her Office Will Do Everything The Same As Before

Over the weekend, in our post about Aaron Swartz, we highlighted Larry Lessig's quite reasonable anger at US Attorney Carmen Ortiz's failure to even suggest that she and her office might review their actions against Aaron Swartz to see if they were reasonable. He wasn't calling on them to necessarily repudiate their actions -- but to at least admit that they would review what they had done to determine if it was appropriate. Instead, Ortiz's statement took the hard line that what they had done was appropriate, full stop.

And, now, her office is continuing to stick to that hard line. No self-reflection. No review. No admission that it's even worth reviewing. Just a faith-based belief that everything they did was correct and they will continue to treat every case exactly the same going forward.

Ortiz?s spokeswoman, Christina DiIorio-Sterling, said last night the Swartz case won?t affect the office?s handling of other cases. ?Absolutely not,? she said. ?We thought the case was reasonably handled and we would not have done things differently.

?We?re going to continue doing the work of the office and of following our mission.?

Many others are calling on Ortiz, or her bosses in the Justice Department, to recognize just how much power they have over someone's life, and that this power must be used carefully. The response of Ortiz and her spokespeople seems to show not even the slightest sympathy or recognition that they have the power to destroy lives, and that such power needs to be used judiciously. It strikes me that someone who fails to have humility while in control of such power is someone who is simply not qualified to hold such an office.

Texas Police Kill Unarmed Man Before Confiscating Witness Camera and Deleting Images

Police in Texas shot an unarmed man 41 times, then turned around and confiscated another man?s camera after he started taking photos and shooting video of the bloody aftermath.

Dallas-area cops then deleted the man?s footage before returning the camera four days later.

Now police from two agencies are vowing to do a ?complete investigation,? which, of course, means we will hear nothing more about the August 31 incident for at least several months.

But so far, the partial investigation has determined that Garland police officer Patrick Tuter lied in his initial report when he claimed that suspect Michael Vincent Allen backed his truck into the patrol car, causing the cop to fear for his life and leaving him no choice but to fire 41 times, meaning he reloaded at least once.

Miraculously, a 20-year-old unarmed woman who was sitting in the cab of the pick-up truck emerged unscathed.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Mesquite police officers confiscated the witness?s camera:

?From the time they yelled, ?Get out, get out,? they didn?t give him three seconds to get out,? Mitchell Wallace said, adding that he counted about 20 bullet holes in Allen?s truck.

Wallace and his wife were asleep when the gunshots began, but they quickly made it to the porch to see Allen?s passenger being pulled from the truck and a police dog jumping into the cab. The German shepherd bit Allen in the neck and jaw area and dragged him out of the truck and onto the pavement, Wallace said.

Police officers pulled the dog off, flipped Allen on his stomach and handcuffed him before checking his pulse. Autopsy results are pending on the cause of Allen?s death.

Wallace took cellphone pictures and video after the shooting stopped, but he said Mesquite police confiscated the phone and deleted the video and pictures. The phone was returned four days later, he said.

Mesquite police are conducting the criminal investigation, which hopefully includes whether or not Tuter acted lawfully, and Garland police are conducting the internal investigation.

Marc Faber's September Outlook: The Calm Before the Storm

Marc Faber is out with the latest issue of his famous Gloom, Boom, and Doom Report which is always a must read for serious investors. Unlike most of the other talking heads, Faber has an excellent track record. He correctly predicted the top in the equity markets in Nov 2007 and caught the bottom in March 2009, making his subscribers a lot of money. Here is a summary of his September 2011 report:

1. Stocks---Faber says stocks face two potential outcomes: a brief rally to between 1250-1300 on the SP 500 before another leg down (and breaching the 1101 low) or a prolonged trading range with 1100 being the low and 1300 as resistance. Faber thinks the first outcome is more likely, but this could change depending on Fed policy (aka: money printing). Another reason for Faber's bearish posture is the unfavorable seasonality of September (worst month for stocks historically). Investors who have exposure to stocks should use any bounce to sell. If you feel compelled to own stocks, Faber recommends blue-chip stocks like Pepsi and Johnson and Johnson.

2. Gold--Extremely overbought at this level. Could fall to $1500-1600 range during the correction. Faber noted the bizarre relationship between US treasuries and gold. Concludes that the people buying gold were not worried about inflation but a collapse of the entire financial system. Gold should be viewed as more of an insurance policy rather than an inflation hedge. Long-term gold is going significantly higher. Gold stocks may be the better bet than the physical metal in the short-term as they play catch up.

Norwegian Police Conducted An Identical Drill, Only Hours Before Anders Behring Breivik Launched His Deadly Attack

The Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten reports today police sources have confirmed that hours before Anders Behring Breivik launched his deadly attack at a political summer camp on Utøya island on July 22, police had conducted a drill for a “practically identical scenario.”

“Sources within the top level management of the police in Oslo have confirmed to Aftenposten that the drill finished at 15:00 that same Friday,” the newspaper reports. “All of the officers from the anti-terror unit that later took part at the bombsite at the government buildings and went out to Utøya to apprehend Anders Behring Breivik had been training on the exact same scenario earlier the same day and in the days preceding,” writes Andreas Bakke Foss.

The bomb attributed to Breivik went off only 26 minutes after the anti-terror drill finished, according to officials.

Norwegian police characterize the “very similar” drill and its chronological proximity to the “practically identical scenario” as a coincidence.

Such “coincidences” are now routine during terror events. On September 11, 2001, the Air Force conducted the Vigilant Guardian, Vigilant Warrior, Northern Guardian, Northern Vigilance exercises.

NORAD had trained for a scenario simulating a crash into a building (military officials insisted the buildings involved in the exercise were not the WTC or the Pentagon, although the actual buildings remain classified). The secretive National Reconnaissance Office also held a plane crash scenario on September 11, 2001.

On July 7, 2005,Peter Power, Managing Director of Visor Consultants, a private firm on contract to the London Metropolitan Police, organized a bombing scenario that coincided with the 7/7 London bombings. “At half past nine this morning we were actually running an exercise for a company of over a thousand people in London based on simultaneous bombs going off precisely at the railway stations where it happened this morning, so I still have the hairs on the back of my neck standing up right now,” Power told the BBC.

On July 24, Webster Tarpley noted that the Norwegian terror attack provides a “telltale critical sign of a false flag operation is the holding of drills or exercises – allegedly for counterterrorism purposes – by the police or the military at the same time as the terror attack, or shortly before the real terror attack begins.”

Tarpley continues:

Once the drill has occurred, the capabilities, hardware, etc., which it has created can remain in place to be mobilized at the desired moment. The secret is that the legally sanctioned drill has been used to conduit or bootleg the actual butchery through a government bureaucracy whose resources are required to run the terror but in which there are many officials who cannot be allowed to know what is happening.

The Norwegian police have underscored the probability that the bombing of government buildings in Oslo and the meticulous slaughter at a summer camp were false flag events.

It is unlikely the corporate media in the United States will report on the suspiciously timed exercises in Norway.

It is even less likely they will draw the conclusion the events represent a false flag event engineered to keep the bogus war on manufactured terror alive and add hysteria to the pell mell rush to construct a global surveillance and police state grid.
