Sheriff John Urquhart Keeps the "Gang" Together

Darrion Holiwell is a self-described gang leader from Seattle who is accused of serious offenses. After learning that he was being investigated by the King County Sheriff's Office, Holiwell concealed his substantial arsenal and sent a text message containing undisguised threats of violence.

Holiwell, it would seem, is the kind of hyper-violent criminal suspect for which SWAT teams were invented. As it happens, Holiwell is a SWAT team commander and the KCSO?s chief firearms instructor. He is accused of using his estranged second wife as a prostitute, providing steroids to fellow police officers, and stealing a substantial amount of ammunition for re-sale to local gun dealers.

Prostitution and drug use are vices, rather than crimes, of course ? but it shouldn?t be forgotten that most SWAT deployments originate in efforts to treat those behaviors as if they were criminal. Holiwell, who has been a King County Deputy since 1995, was surely being paid enough to live comfortably. In addition to his tax-derived salary, Holiwell owned a firearms training company called Praetor. Yet according to Sheriff John Urquhart, his deputy pimped out his wife and started retailing steroids because he ?needed the money? following an injury that cut into his overtime pay.

In a television interview several years ago, Holiwell described the King County SWAT team as a "gang": "Bad guys, we're a gang, too"?. As soon as they unleash us, go hide; guaranteed, we're coming to get you."

The indictment describes Holiwell as a significant threat to the community:

?The defendant has been violating the law and the public trust for years?. [There are] significant concerns for the safety of the community and the many witnesses who have cooperated in the investigation and whose identities will be revealed.? The indictment also claims that ?Both [Holiwell's] current wife and former wife reported to investigators concerning acts of physical violence, assaults, and violent behavior ? that went unreported and are now outside the Statute of Limitations.?

Holiwell, who was arrested and given $1.550,000 bond, was tipped off before his colleagues took him into custody. A text message recovered from his iPhone indicates that he is planning to retaliate against his enemies:

?Sh*t storm is coming?. I got something for there [sic] asses. Hang on, it?s about to get real.?

Sheriff Urquhart admits that his SWAT team, which is deployed, on average, about twice a week, is compromised. Yet the sheriff insists that Holiwell's government-licensed gang will be "operating as normal" until the investigation is completed. If he were at all concerned about the safety of the public he is sworn to protect, Urguhart would take immediate action to disband Holiwell?s gang. But the sheriff clearly has other priorities.

The Sadistic Profligacy of Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Joe Arpaio unabashedly claims to be the world?s toughest sheriff. While his claim to that title is implausible, he is incontestably the country?s most expensive law enforcement officer:? His twenty-year reign as sheriff of Arizona?s Maricopa County has cost taxpayers more than $50 million in lawsuits and settlements arising from abuses committed by his deputies -- including deaths of non-violent offenders incarcerated in his jail.

Arpaio has been indifferent to those abuses and the costs they have inflicted on his constituents. Thus it?s reasonable to believe that something other than austerity prompted him to cut back on meal service within his jail by feeding inmates only twice a day, and going to an exclusively vegetarian menu. He proudly reports the average inmate meal costs between 15 and 40 cents.

On Thanksgiving, Arpaio issued a public statement inviting inmates to thank him for splurging on a special holiday meal ? the main course for which was something called turkey soy casserole ? that cost 56 cents per inmate.

While cultivating his media image and indulging his sadistic whims, Arpaio left tens of thousands of felony warrants go un-served, and ignored hundreds of cases involving child sex abuse. He has been a burden on the law-abiding, and a blessing for the lawless.

Gary Raney: The Slave-Catching Sheriff of Ada County, Idaho

If Idaho had been part of the Union in 1850, and Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney had occupied that office at the time, he would have dutifully arrested any black man or woman identified as an escaped slave. Oh, sure, Raney may have expressed agonized reluctance as he did so -- but that reluctance would have been rhetorical window-dressing for his pious invocation of the sacred responsibility he had to submit to the "law of the land."

This is the inescapable logic of the position Raney has taken in an op-ed column published this morning in the Idaho Statesman.

"I have been asked many times in the past couple of weeks whether I will uphold my oath to defend the Constitution and proclaim an intolerance of federal action against the Second Amendment," Raney writes. Many others have indulged that pressure and now we see Oregon sheriffs, Wyoming legislators and others making hollow promises to protect you from the intrusions of the federal government."

"I did not swear to uphold just part of the Constitution," Raney continues, before tacitly promising to do that very thing. You see, the Constitution, on Raney's construction, "includes the right to keep and bear arms, but it also includes the `supremacy clause' that says that every state shall abide by the laws passed by our Congress."

Actually, that right is not included in the Constitution; it exists independent of that document or any other government charter, and no government has the moral right or delegated authority to take it away. What Raney asserts here is the idea that the existence of that right is contingent on government approval, and thus can be nullified by government. From this perspective, the only part of the Constitution that matters is the supremacy clause, at least as people like Raney pretend to understand it.

"So, despite the fact that I personally oppose some of the gun control measures currently under consideration, my oath requires me to uphold the laws that are passed by our federal and state representatives," summarizes Raney. The same would have been true, of course, of the Fugitive Slave Act -- which was properly enacted and enforced as the "law of the land" despite the heroic efforts of people in some cities and states to nullify enforcement of that abominable measure.

Give Raney whatever credit is due to him for his candor: Like the other sheriffs who have pledged not to carry out unconstitutional federal gun confiscation measures, Raney receives federal subsidies -- but unlike his pro-Second Amendment colleagues, Raney is forthright about the fact that he is merely a servile tool of the federal leviathan state. He will confiscate firearms from innocent people if ordered to, but at least he won't have to walk back any promises he had made to protect their rights.

he Sheriff is either lying or ignorant. The ?supremacy clause? he refers to does NOT stipulate that federal law trumps state law. In fact, it means quite the opposite. The Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Section 2) stipulates the following:

the U.S. Constitution-not the federal government-is supreme; that the U.S. Constitution and all laws made in harmony with it ?shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby??.

TRANSLATE: every State not only MUST obey the U.S. Constitution but also enforce it against any federal conspirator in Congress, who by defrauding those that he pretends to represent, also violates it.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall NOT be infringed."

In other words, it's illegal to pass a law that restricts gun ownership. That is what the "shall not be infringed" part means. Congress MUST pass an amendment that revokes the Second Amendment in order to restrict ANY guns. They CANNOT muster the support for such an amendment. Therefore, they are attempting to do what is illegal, passing laws which infringe on the right to bear arms.
Fact is, the CCW laws are illegal.
The laws which restrict convicted felons from possessing guns are illegal.
The laws which restrict persons convicted of domestic violence from possessing guns are illegal.

ALL of these laws ARE ILLEGAL.

Get it?

It is the Sheriff that is breaking the law. Not We the People.

Sheriff Raney is a disgrace to the founders and the citizens of Ada County.

Sheriff Secretly Tracks Critic With GPS Tracker On Car

Sheriff?s deputies secretly attached a GPS tracker to the truck of a vocal local government critic who they feared was planning to kidnap her son ? and then tried and failed to retrieve it for four months.

Stacy Lynne found the device on her SUV earlier this month after growing suspicious that deputies were following her. Lynne has repeatedly tangled with the sheriff?s office and Fort Collins city officials over a variety of issues, including what she believes is a U.N. plot to take over local government and a child-custody battle that led to her arrest.

Well I know the FBI places GPS on vehicles after awhile they learn the targets route they take to i.e. the store, church ect. then they place women driving your route ahead of you to make it look like you are following them. The FBI is unethical and corrupt they frame innocent people who aren't doing anything wrong. Then the FBI looks the other way when their co workers commit illegal activities.

Video Shows Sheriff Attacking A Deaf-Mute Throat Cancer Survivor Who Accidentally Entered Courthouse Through Wrong Door

The Calgary Sun reports:

Video showing a sheriff?s ?unjustified? and ?excessive? force on a mute, deaf man in a Red Deer courthouse has now been released.

On Dec. 9, cancer survivor Bill Berry, 52, was paying a traffic ticket when a sheriff told him he didn?t go through the proper security screening, as he had come in through an exit door.

Berry, who is deaf, mute and breathes through his neck with a tube, tried to signal that he couldn?t hear or speak, at which point the sheriff became more forceful and tried to carry him out.

Berry collapsed to the ground and his stoma tube fell out.

He was unable to breathe until other sheriffs noticed and reinserted it.

A probe conducted by the Solicitor General Office?s Law Enforcement and Oversight Professional Standards Unit, found the sheriff, identified as Thomas Bounds, was fine to advise Berry of his error but was unlawful in physically confronting him ?without hesitation.?

The report calls Bounds? use and level of force ?unjustified? and ?excessive?.

It also included an interview with Bounds, who said he tried telling Berry to go through security and he responded ?non-verbally by aggressively waving his arms, at which time I took control of him.?

Bounds went on to say a wristlock was ineffective so he ended up carrying Berry to the exit, adding he believed Berry?s actions posed a potential risk to people in the courthouse and he had to use force.

Surprisingly, the Canadian government actually fired him and they say he's "no longer a peace officer."

Here in America, he'd be looking at a raise.
