Cop Flips Out On Teen Video Recording Him Making An Arrest, Arrests Him & Falsely Charges Him With Resisting & Obstruction

Chris | InformationLiberation

A Leland, North Carolina police sergeant John Keel was caught on his own dash cam video flipping out on a teenager for legally video recording him making an arrest with his cell phone outside a Buy & Go gas station.

After verbally harassing and threatening 19-year-old Gabriel Self, Keel arrested him and charged him for obstructing and resisting.

WECT reports Keel has been suspend for 30 days without pay, and all charges against Self were dropped.

Unfortunately, the cop was not charged for filing false charges, which is a felony offense, nor assault for physically accosting him.

Canadian Woman Threatens To Film Out Of Control Cop, Cop Beats Her In "Sexual Assault" & Charges Her For Resisting

Chris | InformationLiberation

A Canadian dental surgeon says an out of control cop beat her on the side of the road, slammed her face into the pavement after she was handcuffed, and committed a "sexual assault" by repeatedly hitting her breasts while she was restrained -- all because he was infuriated she threatened to record him with her cell phone.

GlobalNews.ca reports:

EDMONTON ? A Camrose woman says she was left battered and bruised on Saturday following a traffic stop she will never forget.

Dr. Simona Tibu was on her way to see patients in Edmonton that morning, when she was pulled over by an Alberta sheriff for speeding.

Tibu claims the sheriff violently hit her window. When she opened it, he asked her to hand over her drivers license and insurance information.

?I advised him I would do so if he stopped hitting my car.?

Tibu also told him that if he didn?t, she would record him on her phone.

?At that moment, he became very violent. He took his hands through my window, hit my right hand, where I have bruises on it, smashed my cell phone out of my hands, and told me? ?Get out of your car now.??

She listened to the sheriff, who handcuffed her. With her arms behind her back, Tibu says the sheriff then began hitting her breasts.

Fearing for her life, she began to scream, hoping someone would hear her and help.

Tibu says that only made the sheriff even more aggressive. She claims he pressed his knees into hers until they were bruised, and pushed his pelvis into her back.

?I felt a hit in my head then he smashed my head on the pavement on the road until I was full of blood. Then he told me, ?Now I?m going to walk all over you.??

She remembers seeing a man show up, and eventually an RCMP officer and ambulance arrived at the scene.

Tibu was taken to hospital. She suffered bruises all over her body, including her breasts.

After speaking with an RCMP officer, she was shocked to learn she was being charged with resisting arrest, but the sheriff involved in the alleged incident wasn?t facing any charges.

?I am going to make justice happen,? she says. ?No individual should be handcuffed and be beaten by the police. No women should be handcuffed by the police and be sexually assaulted.?

According to this post on West Coast Native News Dr. Tibu filed for and received a restraining order against one "Sherrif Behills."

It appears the police have still yet to respond.

OMG, I can't believe this happened not far from where I live. How are we to respect the police if they do not respect us. Is there some kind of petition we can sign to have this sheriff lose his job. Alberta should never have decided to get sheriffs. And now that Canada may be allowing US cops to work on our streets???? How many more men and women will get beat up? Theses pigs are out of control. she's so beautiful! now she'll have a scar on her beautiful face you fucking faggot! From now on, if your wife or children are stopped by the cops tell them to call you and keep their windows closed until you arrive and gather up friends and family and provide an ARMED escort home. if a first cop who stops you is overly aggressive you should say back off while i call a legitimate cop, i don't know you, i don't trust you, you are violating your own laws you piece of shit, do not attack me or i will defend myself.

obviously the first cop will get furious you resist his tyranny, and will attack,

that's when you shoot the flying fuck out of him, don't stop firing until he stops moving.

afraid of jailtime? afraid of death? then don't tell me you're a Christian, God hates liars.

atheists, agnostics, etc., go ahead and bend over, your years on earth are all you had anyway.

kill, evil, now.

This reminds me of an old headline from several years ago: More beat cops for Edmonton. Now we know why they are called beat cops, ha ha. You do not tell cops you will comply with them 'on condition X'. No, it doesn't work that way.

Is it possible that this officer used excessive force? Yes. Do I believe it? I don't know, maybe if this woman wasn't being defensive and essentially baiting the cop from the get-go I would be more apt to believe her, but right now it sounds like she was being unnecessarily non-compliant, the officer pulled her out, she resisted, and she was forcefully arrested. You don't play fucking mind games with officers - how is he to know she was grabbing a phone and not a gun? Being a woman doesn't mean you get soft baby treatment when being defiant. If you resist arrest, you get your ass shoved to the ground and cuffed.

If the rest of her story *is* true, that's one thing, but I have a feeling there is a lot of exaggeration and compensatory finger pointing going on here.

to anon 24215 - you can actually look at those pictures, and know that it is a female and a male cop involved, and say what you said?

all i can say is good luck when you meet God, you're in for a rude awakening.

as for "you can't do this to cop", again you're sinning against God by placing a human - ANY human - before God. you don't have to believe in God, i couldn't care less about you, but you've been warned. good luck with that.

@ 24215
if you were a cop and you just handcuffed a woman, hence she's laying on the ground because your small dick dictated you to put her there and you keep beating the poor woman do you think you just earn a medal? no my friend you just became the lowest scumbag on earth. in the police business there's no place for ego, because you're armed and in cases like this the opponent is defenceless and there's no place for rage like this in the police force or anywhere else for that matter.
it's true, neither of us knows what happened exactly but unfortunately that's why it's called "police brutality" and it happens like it or not.
i really hope that if this was such a case that piece of shit get's jail time. at least that's justice

Absolute disgrace. That us tax payers are paying for such stupid egotistical law enforcement such as him . Wow , a big Harry ass galoot like him saying he was assaulted by a tiny woman like her absolutely appalling . And then to hand cuff her and then beat her like he did . That so sick and you wonder why people in society are loseing respect towards law inforcement , it's because there's stupid psychologist doing the screenings and approving these morons . So last but not least I'd love to meet this arsehole that beat that lady , I'd give him a taste of his own medicine . He should be put in jail for what he did . And then the wolves can take care of him and jail . You insecure control FREEK . Lol. And ya wonder why cops like him are getting there lives taken , what a joke , who in the hell wants to respect an inforcer like him ? Resisting America's Torture State

by Nathan Goodman

On July 27, The Real News Network reported that the prisoner hunger strike in Georgia entered its 47th day. The strike began with ten prisoners participating; it has since dwindled to two remaining strikers.

At this point, the strikers have only a few demands. They demand medical care for injuries they suffered as a result of beatings by guards 19 months ago. They ask that their families be granted visitation rights, which were arbitrarily revoked without explanation. Perhaps most notably, according to Bruce Dixon, the prisoners demand "that their status in solitary confinement be reviewed, as per written state procedure, every 30 days, so that the state should give a reason for why they are in solitary."

These prisoners are simply demanding that the government give a reason to keep them held in solitary. This is an extremely moderate demand when we consider that solitary confinement is widely recognized as a method of torture.

In 2011, UN Special Rapporteur on torture Juan E. Méndez declared that "Considering the severe mental pain or suffering solitary confinement may cause, it can amount to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." Furthermore, he called for an absolute ban on solitary confinement lasting longer than 15 days, citing evidence that it could cause permanent psychological damage.

If the UN strikes you as too liberal a source, ask John McCain about solitary. The Republican senator and former presidential candidate has written, "It's an awful thing, solitary ? It crushes your spirit and weakens your resistance more effectively than any other form of mistreatment."? McCain, like many other Vietnam veterans subjected to torture, found solitary confinement to be as damaging as any of the physical abuses he faced.

Yet today, the United States government is the world?s largest perpetrator of this torture technique. In addition to having the largest prison population on the planet, the United States holds approximately 80,000 prisoners in solitary. Bonnie Kerness of the American Friends Service Committee?s Prison Watch Project points out that Americans concerned with torture abroad need to realize that they are "living with black sites in their own backyards."

These domestic "black sites" are not just for violent criminals. According to a 2010 study by the Center for Economic and Policy Research, more than 60% of American prisoners are nonviolent offenders. And once they?ve been locked up, they can be sent to solitary without ever posing a real threat. A recent report in The Nation by Jean Casella and James Ridgeway found that the second most common reason prisoners in New York were sent to solitary was that their urine tested positive for drugs. "In a prison system where 85 percent of inmates are in need of substance-abuse treatment, drug use alone can get you up to ninety days in solitary, and a year if it happens multiple times," Ridgeway and Casella explained.

A year in solitary confinement is more than enough time to cause permanent psychological damage. Yet the US government is willing to hold people in solitary for far longer than a year. Herman Wallace and Albert Woodcox have now spent over 40 years in solitary in Louisiana's Angola prison. Many believe they were targeted for their prison activism with the Black Panther Party. The stated reason for their confinement is a crime that occurred over 40 years ago, a murder charge built on questionable evidence.

While the Angola case is extreme, it represents America's cavalier approach to torturing prisoners. The US government leads the world in subjecting prisoners to extreme social isolation, and typically combines this torture with other abuses. Furthermore, those subjected to this torture are disproportionately ethnic minorities and the poor.

Fortunately, a resistance is building. In addition to the prisoner hunger strike in Georgia, recent hunger strikes in California's Pelican Bay Prison and Virginia's Red Onion Prison have challenged solitary confinement and other inhumane conditions. Outside prison walls, journalists like James Ridgeway are working to expose the horrors of solitary.

This resistance must escalate. Many held in solitary are there for non-violent and victimless ?crimes.? Still more may be innocent. But regardless of what crimes America?s prisoners may have committed, a state that commits torture on a mass scale is a far more heinous criminal.

Cellphone Video Shows Four Cops Beating Philly Motorist Charged with Aggravated Assault and Resisting Arrest

by Ed Krayewski

The video below purports to show what happens after two Philadelphia cops stop a motorist for allegedly ramming into a pole and driving off last week. Backup shows up about two minutes in, and then it's four of the city of brothelry love's finest subduing Marcus Warryton, the "suspect" (who does not appear to be charged in connection with the traffic violation). The Philadelphia Daily News reports, by way of an update that all but one officer (the one who? "struck" Warryton) are back on patrol:
During the struggle, police said, two officers suffered cuts and bruises, and another injured his neck.

At one point, Warryton allegedly reached for one officer's handgun, police said.

Warryton needed seven staples to close gashes on his head. He was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and resisting arrest.

Warryton's family said publicly that they believed that he was the victim of police brutality.

Presumably the portions of the police narrative that aren't on tape happened at some point before (and probably not after) the video. An Internal Affairs investigation was opened and in another Daily News article that asked whether cops used too? much force in the arrest, a police spokesman admits there are some "training issues" apparent from the incident:?

Activist Convicted of Resisting Arrest Without Violence

Activist Post

Orlando Cop Watch activist, John Kurtz, has been ordered jailed for 30 days with 1 year probation for resisting arrest without violence.

Kurtz's case came to public attention in January after he was arrested for filming a case of police brutality administered at the hands of officer Adam Gruler, well known for his questionable conduct and liberal use of tasers and verbal abuse. Kurtz was facing a possible 6-year prison sentence for his audacity to film a public servant attacking a member of the public even after the person was restrained with handcuffs.

Kurtz's video camera was confiscated after his arrest and mysteriously went missing, destroying a key piece of evidence for his own defense, as well as to document exactly what happened that day. The evidence, therefore, relied upon the words of police officers attached to the event.

Despite the conflicting testimony of these officers -- including the arresting officer Adam Gruler himself saying that John did not resist -- Kurtz was still convicted of resisting his illegal arrest.

The pattern of lawlessness is reaching a fever pitch, as there is now an overt war by police on photojournalists. The use of intimidation, overt brutality, and a permissive court system is now spiraling out of control. Kurtz's case is a clear violation of the 1st and 4th amendments, yet the conviction stands.

Similarly the charge of "resisting arrest" has become a mantra for officers, which is allowing for horrendous acts of police brutality, even of society's most vulnerable. YouTube is filled with examples of people lying face-down, cuffed, kneeled upon and pummeled as officers continue to shout "stop resisting!" This is done not only as a show of power, but it also reinforces the legal justification for their behavior and is intended to lead to convictions like those of John Kurtz. The result has a chilling effect on anti-police state activists, as well as photojournalists in general.

Please take action and call Judge Alan S. Apte, Orlando Police Department, and the Orange County Jail. Let them know that caging peaceful people will not be tolerated by the general public.
