Police in the US Kill Citizens at Over 70 Times the Rate of Other First-World Nations

By Matt Agorist

In case you?ve been under a rock lately, it is becoming quite clear that police in the US can and will kill people, even unarmed people, even on video, and do so with impunity.

The tallying methods, or rather lack thereof, used by both the FBI and individual police departments to count the amount of people killed by police, have been shown to be staggeringly inaccurate.?

However, this inability of the government to count the number of people it kills, has been met with multiple alternative means of calculating just how deadly the state actually is.

One of these citizen run databases, is?the website www.killedbypolice.com. The site is?basically a spreadsheet that lists every person killed by cops in the years 2013 and 2014. In addition to naming those killed, it also provides a link to media reports for each of the killings, age, sex and race if available.

The tally for 2014? 1,100 people killed by those sworn to protect.?That is an average of three people a day.

Do not mistake this as saying that those who were killed were innocent. However, when we look at violent crime in this country, we can see that it is at an all time low.

While violence among citizens has dropped, violence against citizens carried out by police has been rising sharply.

When we look at citizens killed by police over the last two years, deaths have increased 44 percent in this short time;?763 people were killing by police in 2013.

As a comparison, the total number of US troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, in 2014?was?58.

Fewer soldiers were killed in war than citizens back home in ?the land of the free? in 2014, by a large margin.

So why is that?

Is this some natural tendency of police?in ?free societies? to kill their citizens more, in an effort to maintain this freedom? Hardly, and hardly is the US a free country.

According to the 2014 Legatum Prosperity Index?released in November, in the measure of personal freedom, the United States has fallen from 9th place in 2010 to 21st worldwide--behind such countries as Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Other such rankings systems show the US as low as 46.

Let?s look at our immediate neighbors to the north, Canada. The total number of citizens killed by law enforcement officers in the year 2014, was 14; that is 78 times less people than the US.

If we look at the United Kingdom, 1 person was killed by police in 2014 and 0 in 2013.?English police reportedly fired guns a total of three times in all of 2013, with zero reported fatalities.

From 2010 through 2014, there were four fatal police shootings in England, which has a population of about 52 million. By contrast, Albuquerque, N.M., with a population 1 percent the size of England's, had 26 fatal police shootings in that same time period.

China, whose population is 4 and 1/2 times the size of the United States, recorded 12 killings by law enforcement officers in 2014.

Let that sink in. Law enforcement in the US killed 92 times more people than a country with nearly 1.4 billion people.?

It doesn?t stop there.

From 2013-2014, German police killed absolutely no one.?

In the entire history of Iceland police, they have only killed 1 person ever. After exhausting all non-lethal methods to detain an armed man barricaded in his house who actually shot 2 police officers, police were forced to take the 59-year-old man?s life.?The country of Iceland grieved for weeks after having to resort to violence.

TSA Forces Woman To Use Naked Body Scanner Three Times Because of "Cute" Figure

New legislation will force TSA to install ?passenger advocates? at every airport
Paul Joseph Watson

Female passengers say they are being targeted by TSA screeners for sexual harassment, with one Texas woman being forced to pass through a naked body scanner three times so chuckling male TSA workers in a back room could get a good look at her ?cute? figure.

The incident occurred at DFW International Airport earlier this month. Wife and mother Ellen Terrell was asked by a female TSA screener ?Do you play tennis?? When Terrell asked why, the screener responded, ?You just have such a cute figure.?

Terrell was then told to go through the naked body scanner not once but a second time. She then heard the TSA screener talking into her microphone saying, ?Come on guys, alright, alright, one more time.?

After Terrell was forced to undergo a third blast of radiation from the body scanner, the male TSA agents in the back room who were obviously enjoying the show tried to send her through yet again to see more images of her naked body.

?Guys, it is not blurry, I'm letting her go. Come on out,? the female TSA screener said, finally ending the ordeal.

"I feel like I was totally exposed," Terrell told CBS 11. "They wanted a nice good look."

An investigation by CBS 11 News has prompted New York Senator Charles Schumer to introduce legislation that will mandate the TSA provide ?passenger advocates? who will be on duty at all times to respond to complaints at every airport in the country.

The investigation found that female travelers are victims of a ?peep show? by TSA workers who are using naked body scanners to target attractive women.

?CBS 11 News dug through more than 500 records of TSA complaints and found a pattern of women who believe that there was nothing random about the way they were selected for extra screening,? states the report, which lists numerous examples of men forcing women to pass through the scanners in a clear pattern of sexual harassment.

"Going through security at our nations airports should not be a humiliating or degrading experience,? remarked Schumer after hearing about the investigation. ?Because the TSA has refused to put passenger advocates at our nation's airports, today I'm introducing legislation that would force them to do so."

However, critics argue that the position would just be filled by another TSA worker, and that such a program will only be worthwhile if the advocate is independent.

A far better solution would be for airports to take advantage of a newly passed law that enables airports to apply to have TSA screeners evicted altogether.

As we have exhaustively documented, TSA workers tasked with operating naked body scanners have found themselves embroiled in an epidemic of criminality, abuses of power, and sexual perversion, with new cases appearing on an almost daily basis.

These people are the least suitable candidates to be providing security at America?s airports, which makes threats by Democrats and people like Joe Lieberman that a ?new 9/11? will occur if the TSA is marginalized all the more asinine.

the government hypocrites strike again. create an ''advocate'' to moderate an abusive regime THEY created in the first place. get rid of it all together not moderate it!! folks who fly today WANT to be abused. they are not ignorant about what is coming to them and they walk down the tsa lanes like cattle in feed lot. they are getting what they asked for. C'mon folks lighten up.

We all know those TSA perverts are not-a-little-slow in the gray matter. The victim should be grateful they didn't dial the power all the way up and microwave her until she glowed in the dark. What can she expect trying to go thru screening with a "hot" body like that?

TSA / Government Expansion of Scanning / Radiating Citizens

NEXT: Could Outspoken Americans, e.g. writers and Bloggers, Americans that defend the Constitution be deemed ?Belligerents? by U.S. Government?(repeatedly) stopped at Check-Points; searched, questioned, without probable cause or warrants?Indefinitely Detained?

TSA is establishing thousands of national Checkpoints at surface transportation locations. One can?t help recall the Nazi Military and Police established similar checkpoints?harassed, searched and delayed German travelers and repeatedly targeted persons deemed politically undesirable at roadway checkpoints, boarding and riding trains and bus stops: many targeted Citizens were intentionally delayed by Nazi authorities so they would be late or miss work; many lost their jobs.

Germans without probable cause were put on (Nazi Government do not hire lists). Could today?s outspoken Americans e.g. Bloggers that defend the Constitution later be deemed ?Belligerents? by U.S. Government?put on no hire lists; repeatedly stopped, searched and interrogated without probable cause; forced to submit to X-ray scans damaging their health?or Indefinitely Detained?

Had the Nazi Military / Police or Gestapo had X-ray scanners, no doubt the Nazis would have manufactured any reason or no reason to repeatedly x-ray at checkpoints, anywhere?persons the Reich deemed politically or socially undesirable, until either a targeted person was too ill to travel or dead.

One can only guess how much radiation is covertly transmitted into the bodies of Americans by U.S. Government and Police repeated scanning of private homes without warrants; Americans walking on the street; driving vehicles and ?Persons of Interests??potentially damaging their health.

2012 – Science or Superstition – End Times Predictions and Interpretations of the Mayan Long Count Calendar

December 21, 2012, the end date of the sophisticated long count calendar created by the ancient Maya in Central America. Countless books and websites, magazine articles and newspaper headlines debate its meaning, with enthusiasts in two camps; those for casting apocalypse, the end of time, and those who see a coming renewal- a rebirth of consciousness. Adding fuel to the debate, some scientists say the increasing number of natural disasters in recent years as evidence of a catastrophic climax of events in 2012. How much of what we’re hearing is science, and how much is superstition?

There were floods and hurricanes in the Maya area and the idea of a watery ending to the world, pictured on page 74 of the Dresden Codex, last page, water gushing out of the mouth of the sky, these were real experiences. And you have it in the Enûma Eliš which is the Sumerian creation myth. It is in world mythology, because the world is destroyed. And it is recreated. And we take these marvelous stories of destruction of the world and recreation and then we bring them into a macroscopic kind of focus by imagining it’s the whole world that’s gonna end, then yes my friends it will end. There’s no question there will be an end to the world. You know, study these creation myths and you’ll see they’re there for a very good reason. I mean, people did experience the destruction of their world and they did rebuild it, and it happened before and it’ll happen again.

It’s really hard to look at any ancient mythological system without realizing that they thought in cyclical terms, not in linear terms. So literally as we would put it today, what goes around comes around. My interest was could there have been a forgotten episode in human history, and I began to find the evidence forcing me to look at a period about 12,000 years ago where it was the end of the last ice age. And much in the mythology seemed to suggest that the cataclysm that occurred then, in some way, going to come back. And so I found that my quest was not only for the beginning of human civilization, but also for the end of human civilization and that the ancients seemed to be putting down some sort of warning perhaps taking into account that human civilization would change greatly, that cultures would change, that languages would be lost looking for a universal system of communication. And it seemed to me that they looked to the heavens for that systems because the stars will always be above us and have always been above us, and that it’s possible to encode your message by using the changing patterns of the stars then you might hope that as some distant date that someone else might be able to read that message. And this is when I came across the ancient Maya.

The Maya were avid stargazers and appeared to have inherited a body of astronomical knowledge from the Olmecs before them. So it’s in the Olmec monuments that we get the first hint of a calendar system, and that calendar system is perfected into a fine tuned device by the ancient Maya. And like so much of ancient thought it is cyclical in nature that there are repeating periods of history just over 5,000 years in length. And it’s just a fact that the latest cycle of the Maya calendar begins somewhere before 3000 BCE, and culminates on the 21st of December 2012. For the Maya the idea that what was there before was lost and then returns would have made perfect sense. And it’s this sense of a cyclical cataclysm linked to a cyclical rebirth that I found most eerie really, and spooky in Mayan tradition.

The procession of the equinoxes is the astronomical process that underlies the Mayan calendar and all ancient systems of cyclical time. Perhaps I should just say a word about what the procession of the equinoxes is. Procession fundamentally is an observation of the heavens and an observation that at certain seasons of the year particular markers that the equinoxes and the solstices. If you’d look at the background of stars behind the sun you’ll find that that background is very slowly changing. And, it’s changing at the rate of 1 degree every 72 years. And the view of mainstream astronomers as to why this is happening is they hypothesize, they have not proved that there is a cyclical wobble on the axis of the Earth. Rather like the wobble of a top that has been spinning fast but the spin has begun to decay and the poles at the top begin to make a great circle, And this is what they believe is happening with the Earth. Now because Earth is the viewing platform which we observe the stars, changes in the orientation of that viewing platform will cause changes in the observed appearances and positions of the stars at that particular times of the year. And because it’s a circular wobble, the whole thing is a cycle, and in fact unfolds over a vast span of time, 25,920 years, takes you back from the starting position of the clock, back fully around the clock to the same position again. So the constellation that is rising behind the sun today in our time, and for a period of roughly 2,000 years, which we’re just entering into the Age of Aquarius, when the constellation of Aquarius has (?) it will be 26,000 years, 25,920 years before that constellation again rises behind the sun.

Our research has focused on, why are so many ancient cultures fascinated with this obtuse thing called procession of the equinox, when it takes one full lifetime just to notice that the stars have moved 1 degree. There’s 200 plus myths that talk about this movement of the stars causes some change in the history of the Earth. And it just seemed that if it is only what modern scholars say it is, just a simple wobbling of the Earth, that it shouldn’t be related to any change in history or consciousness. And so we really dug into the Vedic teachings about procession which give us a whole different meaning. We believe that the Earth, moving with the Sun the whole solar system going around another star, we believe is the cause of why we see this procession of the 12 constellations of the zodiac. We know that all orbits conform to Kepler’s laws. They move in great ellipses rather than circles. And that means the bodies speed up when the two masses get closer to each other, when the gravitation is stronger, then they slow down when they get farther away from each other. So if precession is the observable of the solar system in motion around another star, it too would have to obey Kepler’s laws and speed up and slow down. Now we have really really good scientific data for the last hundred years going back to at least the great Simon Newcomb, the number one astronomer in the U.S.-year 1900, and he kept precise records of precession and notices that it’s speeding up every year exponentially. So he actually added something called a constant to the precession equation, Newcomb’s constant we call it nowadays. And even since then the precession has sped up above the constant rate. But we’ve taken the Vedic view that it’s caused by an orbit. That orbit is 24,000 years and therefore is precession actually measures 26, we must be in the slow part of the orbit, far the other star right now. So we plotted on a curve what the precession rate should be for this last one hundred years, and we came out the the exact curve that we see historically. And from that we were able to predict that the precession rate will continue to accelerate year after year after year until we reach periapsis.

The coming solar maximum in 2012 is not the only cause for concern. Scientists have noticed a weakening of the Earth’s magnetic field and a shifting of the poles. Some even suggesting that the north and south poles could literally reverse places with each other.

The early Maya site called Izapa, the site that invented this long count calendar that gives us the 2012 end date, is really a key to understanding how the early Maya thought of 2012 and the galactic alignment. The monuments of Izapa were found in the 1950s and 60s, as they were left some 1800 years ago so they’re in situ. They’re still oriented to certain horizons and certain ways. One of the key horizon alignments at Izapa is the December solstice sunrise. So we start to see how Izapa is a site that helps us understand the galactic alignment in 2012. For example stela 11 from Izapa portrays Hun Hunahpu, the father of the hero twins, he represents the December solstice sun. And, he’s emerging from the upturned mouth of a frog. That’s the rebirth place. The mouth of the frog or the mouth of the snake, that represents the dark rift. His arms are outstretched and it’s basically a period measuring gesture. He’s basically measuring a cycle of time. So what this is saying is that at the end of a cycle, the December solstice sun is lined up with the dark rift, and this carving, tela 11, points right to the rising December solstice sun. That’s just one example of how Izapa encodes information about 2012.

It is true that when the sun is at the winter solstice it more or less lines up in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius, which is close to what we would call the center of the Milky Way galaxy, which was not determined until even later. I stress this because one wants to argue about precision here. I could say in a very general way that the winter solstice sun comes through that general area of Sagittarius whether it’s perceived as the center of the galaxy or not, somewhere between the years 1900 and 2150. To dare to pinpoint it any more accurately is to suggest that the Maya did, and I’ll go back to what I always go back to, I’ve got to see the evidence. And I’ve got to see something more than just an interpretation of iconography on a stela. I’ve got to see it in the codices. I’ve got to see it in writing. I’ve got to see the numbers. If the astronomers cared about that, they would have backed it up with numbers.

The LA Times notices the "double standard" on Iran

By Glenn Greenwald

Today we have a pleasant and exceedingly rare surprise: a major media outlet noting that the very behavior which the U.S. Government and all Serious People are now righteously condemning is behavior in which the U.S. itself routinely engages. From The Los Angeles Times?Editorial Page,?entitled ?Iran?s plot ? and a U.S. double standard??:

But wait a minute. Two weeks ago, the United States assassinated one of?its?enemies in Yemen, on Yemeni soil. If the U.S. believes it has the right to assassinate enemies like Anwar Awlaki anywhere in the world in the name of a ?war on terror? that has no geographical limitation, how can it then argue that other nations don?t have a similar right to track down their enemies and kill them wherever they?re found?

It?s true that the assassination of Awlaki was carried out with the cooperation of the government of Yemen. That makes a difference. But would the U.S. have hesitated to kill him if Yemen had not approved? Remember: There was no cooperation from the Pakistani government when Osama bin Laden was killed in May.

It?s also true that there?s a big difference between an Al Qaeda operative who, according to U.S. officials, had been deeply involved in planning terrorist activities, and a duly credited ambassador of a sovereign country. Still, the fact remains that all nations ought to think long and hard before gunning down their enemies in other countries.

As the United States continues down the path of state-sponsored assassination far from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, all sorts of tricky moral questions are likely to arise. But this much is clear: The world is unlikely to accept that the United States has a right to behave as it wishes without accountability all around the globe and that other nations do not.

NYPD Dangerously Uses Horses to Control Crowd at Occupy Wall Street in Times Square

Democracy Now! broadcasts video footage of the New York City Police Department using officers on horseback to keep Occupy Wall Street demonstrators within a barricaded area on Saturday in Times Square during a massive protest. Tens of thousands of people joined the march from Zuccotti Park in Manhattan's Financial District ? the home of the month-long encampment protest ? to Times Square, the heart of New York's media, tourism and entertainment district. Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman asks reporter Ryan Devereaux to describe the scene (read transcript below). A top NYPD officer eventually arrived and directed the police force to move back and deescalate the situation.

I know this is just a peaceful protest, but with all protests blood on both sides are gonna have to be spilled sooner or later. Oh yeah a horse that is used a as a matter of conveyance by the enemy state is considered a tool of the enemy so to bad for animal rights.

The New York Times' Broken Record: Whoops! We Rushed to Judgment, but the Charges Are Not True!

by William L. Anderson

To the surprise of no one who has done even a smidgen of due diligence in the sexual assault case against former International Monetary Fund head Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the New York Times and other news outlets are reporting that the whole thing is falling apart because the accuser has been spinning more stories than did Crystal Mangum of Duke Lacrosse case fame. His release on his own recognizance (after originally being held on $5 million bond) is the last step before this case officially is trashed, I believe.

Shortly after Strauss-Kahn's arrest, a forensic nurse (who is a skilled interviewer in sexual assault accusation cases) and I were discussing the case and as she laid out the facts, it was pretty obvious that from the start, the police and, more important, the Manhattan district attorney's office, were telling Mike Nifongesque lies. Remember that he supposedly left the hotel immediately after the attempted rape, being in such a rush that he left his cellphone behind in an attempt to quickly get out of the country?

It turns out that he checked out of the hotel in an orderly fashion, went to the airport, and then called the hotel to see if they could deliver his cellphone to him. None of his actions seemed to be those of a man desperately trying to leave the USA, although given the state of "law enforcement" in this country, I can't blame him for wanting to get the heck out of this place.

Even those lies from the police and prosecutors aside, it gets even better, much better. However, we first must travel down a short memory lane, courtesy of our friends at the Grey Lady, who always are outraged, OUTRAGED at the mere accusation of sexual assault or sexual harassment. As one examines various statements coming from the DA's office right after the arrest, one can see that the authorities were sticking to their story, claiming that the "victim" provided "powerful details consisted with violent sexual assault, and that her story was "constant and unwavering."

Of course, what sexual assault claim would be complete without the editorial page angst that came from the opinion folks at the NYT? Not surprisingly, Maureen Dowd, who never seems to be without a stupid and poorly-informed opinion, wrote a blanket denunciation about French men and sexual harassment (as seen in the link).

Just as the NYT immediately jumped to the conclusion that Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty, and David Evans had raped Crystal Mangum, writers at the paper quickly assumed that the Strauss-Kahn accuser was telling the unvarnished truth. The letters that the paper saw fit to publish were full of the rush to judgment. This piece by Linda Martin Alcoff, a philosophy professor in New York, was pretty typical of the mindset of the NYT crowd.

In other words, it was assume guilt first and always believe the prosecutors, especially when prosecutors are prominent Democrats like Vance who have political ambitions. But, as in the Duke case, truth has carved a bit of a wedge in the NYT's narrative.

I have no doubt that the story that police and prosecutors fed the media ? that this large, naked man jumped from the bathroom and forced this poor, African immigrant to give him oral sex ? is utterly false. First, keep in mind that she is from Guinea, and is a French speaker. Second, I suspect that the encounter not only was mutual, but she planned it in advance, and most likely with some of the people with whom she is associated.

I smell a setup from the beginning, one that even a semi-competent investigator would have found. However, given that the original investigation was done by the New York police and the DA's office, competency really is not in the job description; however, being able to act in an ideological manner that fits with the mentality at the NYT IS part of the job.

Nonetheless, the NYT continues to protect Vance and his crew, declaring:

In recent weeks, Mr. Strauss-Kahn?s lawyers, Benjamin Brafman and William W. Taylor III, have made it clear that they would make the credibility of the woman a focus of their case. In a May 25 letter, they said they had uncovered information that would "gravely undermine the credibility" of the accuser.

Still, it was the prosecutor?s investigators who found the information about the woman. (Emphasis mine)

Right. It seems that no one at the NYT has managed to deal with what is obvious: If government investigators had found this damning evidence on their own, then why were Vance and company continuing to claim that the accuser was truthful and that they had a strong case? In other words, if their investigators found out these things, either one of two things happened, neither of which would reflect well on NY authorities.

The first would be that investigators told them what they had found, but Vance's charges continued to spout the same narrative, hoping that their rhetoric would overcome any problems. In other words, they knew the truth but lied.

The second would be that the investigators withheld information and gave it to their superiors only long after they had found out the truth, leaving Vance and the other prosecutors in the dark. This one makes no sense, which means that if what the NYT is saying is true, then Vance and those prosecutors involved with the case should be disbarred at the very least for knowingly making false statements in a very high-profile case.

There is a third possibility, and that is that the private investigators for the Strauss-Kahn defense did their own work and presented the facts to the Manhattan DA and warned them that if they did not act, the defense would make sure that the material would be leaked in a very unceremonious way. Any way one slices this material, however, it is clear that Vance and his employees have a lot of explaining to do.

Don't expect the mainstream media to ask those questions. Vance and the editorial staff at the NYT are joined at the ideological and political hip and the paper will do everything it can do to protect him. Likewise, the fact that Strauss-Kahn over the years has had the reputation of acting as, well, one might expect from someone who is known to be sexually-boorish, I doubt that too many mainstream reporters are going to invite the rage of the Maureen Dowds.

Nonetheless, we see yet another example of the Government-Media Alliance making false accusations, bringing false charges, and then ending up with egg on some collective faces. This is not the last time we will see this sorry scenario, and I only can feel for the next person who is caught in the crosshairs.
